Dan's PoV
Let's take you back to the start, Kerry and I decided we wanted to foster a child and maybe in the future adopt, we wanted to give Amelia a sister; even it it wasn't a biological sister. Amelia was so excited too, she had already started to develop a friendship with Savannah. When we found Savannah she immediately clicked and was perfect for the family so we got the ball rolling, then she was diagnosed with cancer on top of her heart problems and it worried me, Amelia and Savannah have a close relationship and only just got into each others lives and they are already laughing at everything and anything.
The cancer diagnosis was massive and I could tell it hurt Savannah when she found out but I promised her that we wouldn't let her down like her other families have done with her heart problems, she's told us everything and it's horrible to think people would be selfish enough to just dump her when she's unwell. Amelia asked me if we're going to the hospital to see Savannah tomorrow which I said we would and I could tell Amelia was so happy about that. I looked over to a photo which was sat on the coffee table, Amelia and Savannah on the second time they met, Amelia was almost kissing Savannah's check while Savannah had her mouth in a open smile; they were both happy and I remembered the day.
This is what happened that day, Kerry and I took Amelia and Savannah to the Zoo, we were sat outside of the café at the Zoo just after going to see you he penguins. Amelia and Savannah both said they wanted to have a penguin as a pet so we ended up buying them a stuffed penguin which they decided to make after each other. I was determined to make Savannah's life as amazing as it can be even if she doesn't have much time left, we were in this for the long run and nothing was going to hold us back.
Kerry's pov
Fostering, one thing that's better than having your own child. Dan and I decided to foster and we found the perfect child almost instantly, Savannah-Ryan Annabella Wilson is her name, she's got Brown hair and she's 14 Years old making her the same age as Amelia. I am already overwhelmed by the bond Amelia and Savannah have, they are like sisters already which is so good.
Dan and I did think Amelia would think we were pushing her out but we explained to her that we wanted her to have a sister and we involved her through it all. Not long after we met Savannah she got some devastating news, she was diagnosed with cancer on top of her heart problems; it broken my heart when I found out but I wasn't going to turn my back on the teenager, she needed all the support she could get and I want going to let her down.
