Niall and I walked back down in an awkward silence. We had almost kissed before Harry interrupted. I shook the thoughts from my mind as my stomach growled. We arrived at the house and food was already at the table. That is how meals worked. They were served at a certain time. If you were not there, bummer. As we got our food, I was about to sit when I heard a yell from upstairs. Alyse was waking up. Kristen went to get up, but I interrupted her. I got up from the table to get Alyse. I was her pretty much her part-time nanny for whenever Kristen worked, so I had done it before.

I hastily climbed the stairs, my side reminding me to slow down a little. I walked into Dav's room, where Alyse and Kristen were staying for the week until their house was finished with repairs. Alyse was sitting up in the bed waiting for someone the get her. A big smile spread onto her face as soon as she saw me.

"Rubyyy!" she said in excitment.

"Hey, big girl. How did you sleep" I asked her lifting her from the bed and onto my right hip, the side that did not have stitches in it. I carried her downstairs and by that time the boys had finally arrived to the table. I helped Alyse get some breakfast and sat her down between me and Kristen who was looking very tired today.

"Thank you. Really I appreciate it and I was wondering if you don't mind watching her today? I'll pay you for it, of course" she asked me.

"Yeah it's totally fine. We have fun, right Alyse?" I asked the 4 year old who was currently making a mess of the food on her plate. It was all on her face too and made me wonder if she had gotten any in her mouth.

"Yeah" she declared and continued eating. She was so cute. I started on my food and was sneeking glances at Niall who was sitting across from me and I noticed he was doing the same thing. My mom stood up suddenly and that is her way of saying she is making an important announcement. Sure enough she opened her mouth to speak.

"Attention everyone! Because I'm sure you all forgot or were unaware, tonight is the banquet for the local show jumping circuit" she announced

Awh shit "Sorry mom, I totally forgot" I started to explain and apologize. Thank god that we all had already had an outfit already picked out. Kylie and Megan were showering mom with apologies.

"It's fine girls. I'm just reminding you. Your dad should be home in time, so no worries there, but the boys. Do you guys have any tuxes or anything? You must have something" mom asked them

"Yeah, Paul made us bring a black tux each just in case of anything" Niall answered with his mouth full.

"Okay it's settled then. Continue eating" she finished and walked out of the dining room into the kitchen. Lilly, Barb, and Kristen were finished, so I looked to Kristen and nodded. My way of telling her I will take care of Alyse now. The 3 woman and the twins left the room, leaving Kylie, Megan, the boys, me and Alyse.

Alyse was finished and looked at me. That would be my cue to stop eating and get her ready for the day. I helped her out of the chair and asked her to bring her plate to the kitchen and give it to my mom. She ran off and I stood up to clear plate and Megan helped me. We walked into the kitchen just as Alyse was leaving. I quick gave the plates to mom who was washing dishes and ran after Alyse. I got back to the dining room to find Louis holding her on his lap. They were both smiling at something Louis said. I went over to take Alyse.

"Come on Lyser. You have to get dressed" I told her taking her hand.

"Okay" she said simply sliding off Louis's lap and taking my hand.
