I just decided to continue like I had never met Izana Wisteria. I dug out a pair of pants and lose shirt, strapping on a belt to keep it all in place. I couldn't bring myself to cut off my long hair, so I stuffed it all into a hat. I wasn't that comfortable, but I was confused. I was just glad I was in the back room working on orders for most of the day. I came back up front in order to retrieve more flowers to finish more orders.
"Oh Akarozu, you've got to tell me about last night," Steph sighed, looking in the distant dreamily. "So much must have happened last night. You're sister and prince Zen got engaged. Then someone Ren away from Prince Izana, leaving only a shoe. Now he's looking for her."
I just stiffened and gathered the flowers. That idiot prince, it technically was his shoe. "I didn't really see much about what happened, I left early," I twisted the truth.
Zora came up from behind me, resting an arm over my shoulders. "I doubt that, you're limping today," he pointed out, "You must have danced the night away." No I was limping because I scratched up my feet running through gravel without shoes.
I shook him off and headed into he back. "I'm still tired from last night, I'd be happy to tell you about it tomorrow," I told my bosses, trying not to seem too off. I knew they knew something was off, I was quieter than usual, on top of my different appearance.
The two shared a concerning look. "How about you make the delivers today?" Steph asked, "There aren't that many, and it would be such a big help."
I shrugged, not really having an option. They were paying me, so I couldn't argue about what I could or couldn't do. The streets were a bit less crowded than usual, like only men and older women were on the streets. I wonder if all the girls were heart broken their young prince Zen was no longer available. I shrugged it off and continued on my merry way.
I wasn't very merry, for my feet screamed out in pain with every step I took. Yes there weren't many deliveries, only three, but all were in different parts of town. I wish I could have ride Gypsophilia, but she was too far away. I was between the second and third delivery and I couldn't take walking anymore. I sat down beside the road, taking off my boots to message my feet. I was displeased to see some scabs broke open, causing them to bleed again. I should have really taken the day off.
As I let my feet rest I watched as a group of children played ball. I remeber doing that growing up. It always sorta sucked, but that was just cause of me. A group of horses was soon coming down the road. Like most people learned as soon as they learned to ride a horse, is to look out for people walking, expecially in towns. So I was surprised to find they were headed right towards a child walking back to be able to catch the ball.
Even with my feet scolding me I ran out to help. I pulled the child out of the way, throwing myself into harm in the process. I was hit by the horse. My head slammed against the cobblestone ground, shaking it, and iron horse shoes slammed into my side, surely causing bruises. Instead of worrying about myself I just sat up too see if the child was safe.
After seeing that she indeed was and in the care of her friends, I I turned to the rider. "Watch where you're going!" I scolded him, not carrying if the fancy garb he was wearing.
He glared down at me from a top his high horse. "I do not watch out for maniacs who throw themselves infront of horses," he spat down at me. I rolled out of the way of the loogie, and popping up to my feet in one motion.
I glared up at this uncivilized man. "Maybe people wouldn't need to throw themselves infront of you if you indeed watched where you were going, and saw you were barreling right towards a child," I pointed out, gesturing to the gourp of children just to the side of me. "And I not acted who would know what would have happened."
This man slid down from his horse, surprised to find I was about the same height as him. Intimidation point decrease. Before much could happen another man on a horse came upnext to us. "What is going on here?" asked the voice that was once the only thing I could hear in my head.
I grabbed the rim of my cap, and bowed my head, to hide my face from the prince. "This peasant threw themselves infront of my horse," the noble man decreed. I wanted to snap at him, but my I knew better to.
"To save a child if I saw correctly," the prince epijnted out, surprising me a bit to see he would go against someone of his own class to side with one below him. "Now leave this lady alone, can't you see she's already injured before you came along." How did he know I was a woman? Oh yeah, boobs. FUCK BOOBS!
With a grumble the noble was gone. I heard someone get off their house and approach me, I could only assume who it was. "Sit, you look to be close to falling over," he commanded. I could not argue, cause that is all I wanted to do. I continued to hold down the brim of my cap, scared of even showing an inch of my face. "May I ask for your name?" the prince asked on a soft voice. One that reminded me of those nights.
I gulped down. "Akarozu," I got out. I could feel the smirk growing on his face. He knew it was me. "Thank you your highness, but I must really be going." I said rushing to get away from here.
He grabbed my arm before I could get up. His other hand came and pulled away my cap, revealing the long pony tale of silver locks of my blood red eyes. "Where would you be running to this time?" Izana asked, annoyance previlent in his voice.
