You luckily found your room. And many butlers have already gotten your items ready and packed, taking them out of your room for you. You quickly grabbed your pen and checked in the mirror and found your hair down, it was... surprisingly okay for never seeing your hair down during the day.
Then you saw your Mother come into view and you hurried to place your hair back into place. "Is this what's taking you so long? Stop that! I can believe it! Mr. Jones is waiting on us!"
"Sorry Mother."
"I'll just have to fix this myself," she grumbled and did just that.
She pulled on your hair and placed it back into place and you had to take every painful movement from her placing your hair. Then once she finished it, she patted your shoulder and told you, "Come on now, let's get going!"
She seemed... too excited about this.
You started to try to think about why she could be so excited about something like this. Something ladylike...
You blushed at the thought and looked up to her. Of course! She'd see that same look that Alfred was giving you. And she would push Father to make movements like that. Would that mean you could still work with Father's company?
You rushed over towards the doors out of the train and walked over to the horse carriage that Alfred had for you and your family. Alfred opened the door for you and your mother. You sat down next to her as your father followed the both of you, then lastly Alfred entered the carriage and once everyone was settled in the cart started to move.
It was a comforting silent ride, which Mother trying to start up some conversation to bypass the time. You turn towards the windows and admired more of the landscape until you found the hustling crowds of hard-working people.
It seemed so similar yet so different at the same time. Everyone was working in their classes, but you could see different sparks of life for each person. They seemed to have a drive inside on them. It fascinated you to see how simple looking people could have such a hope inside of them. Even if it wasn't everyone.
Then the crowds of people disappeared and the cart stopped for a moment. "Isn't this quite exciting to come to see Mr. Jones place?" Your mother turned to you and asked.
You nodded, "Quite indeed."
You turned back to see a gorgeous field of decorated flowers, similar to home, but... seemed brighter, as though it was a statement. "May I care to show you around?" Alfred asked as you turned back to him.
"Why of course Mr. Jones!" Your mother cheered.
Your father seemed to be very tired and knew to just nod in agreement. You nodded as well as the door was opened for all of you and you went out of the cart, your mother following behind you and then the two gentlemen. You stared in awe at the amazing house, it wasn't even a house! It was a building reaching towards the heavens and less of a home!
"Care to follow, Ms. (L/n)?" Alfred chuckled as your parents turned to you. Your father happy to see you enjoying yourself. And your mother glaring at you, most likely embarrassed by your behavior.
"Coming Mr. Jones!"
~
You were sitting by the fire, knitting as your mother was reading a book. Currently, your father and Mr. Jones were talking again, and from the few butlers you've seen come by, have had a drink or two.
It was amazing how well your father was getting along with the younger businessman. This was a very rare trait from your father with any partnering company since everyone was so stock most of the time. Or from what your father has told you. Then again you knew this Mr. Jones, or Alfred as he wishes you to call him, is anything but stock and ordinary.
