Finally all the chaos had died down and Brody being in my office nearly 10 mins ago was a thing of the past. Jack is here to be evaluated before I take his sessions to the next step.

After asking him all the basic questions in which he answered like any "normal" person, I was able to ask ordinary things about his day and how he feels being here.

"You know you don't have to treat me like I'm so psychopath because I'm not." Jack looked at me with a cocky expression.

Self-centered. Denial. Self-conscious of how others view him.

"Will you stop jotting notes down on that stupid paper and talk to me like a real human being?!" He's becoming furious but for what?

Anger issues. Possible personality disorder.

Jack sits up from his seat to grab my notepad, but I moved it too quickly for him.

"Damn, you're fast. How did you gain such awareness when you're just a simple therapist?"

How dare he insult me like that?

"If you must know my dad has trained me all my life to take care of myself. He's not a fan of weakness so why not teach his only daughter some ninja skills."

I leaned back in the chair with arms folded across my chest.

"Your father was a smart man to protect you from bad guys like me. No wonder you're here dealing with the worse of the worse...I guess you're equipped to handle it."

I don't know why but I let out a laugh. I'm sure he wasn't expecting that to come from me. His face looked uncertain and I, pride in leaving people clueless. It's all about the element of surprise.

"So before I start asking you some personal questions...is there anything you wanna know about me besides the obvious?"

Deep down I knew this could potentially be a bad idea but I just couldn't help myself. What's the worse that could happen?

The fact that she gave me the floor...surprised me. Her father told me how straightforward she was and didn't care much about the consequences. Sapphire enjoyed a challenge and I was about to give her one.

"So, why are you here and not traveling the world?"

This was a real question that I wanted to ask because I would be...yet, she's here working for Bridgewater.

"Well, I enjoy what I do here. Maybe, once I'm seasoned enough, I'll go get my Doctorate overseas."

Interesting.

She's really passionate about helping others. Those people who've been through hell and back intrigues her. But also, the troubling mind of others consumes her.

"Why criminals though? Like I get you enjoy talking to people and their problems, but why the mentally deranged?"

Sapphire's eyebrows rose up at my question. I knew I was about to start digging into her past.

"All my life I've watched shows that surround catching criminals according to how they've handled the act and what they looked for in a victim; but what caught my attention is their reason why. Most criminals admitted to sexual arousal while committing certain acts or power over another human being that motivated them. I can honestly say I like to hear those stories."

Wtf? Is she insane?

"Hold up, are you that little girl who fantasized about being with a criminal? That typical Bonnie and Clyde love story!"
