I woke up at 4 AM to get an early start towards the Big City. I rolled down my windows to feel the cool breeze and with summer slowly approaching the weather has felt on the warmer side.
As I silently curse myself about not having any music playing, the tunes come booming out as I turn up the volume.
"I wanna be downnnnn with what you're going through...I wanna be dowwwwnnnn...I wanna be down with you!" No matter the time...of day or night it's true...I wanna be downnnnnnnn!" There's nothing like good ol' throwback Brandy songs in the morning.
My jam session was cut short when I got a call from my mom. She's overseas studying marine life in Norway. My dad bought her a house over there just so she wouldn't have to stay in a hotel. He would do anything for his girls.

My dad always had a thing for beautiful women according to my uncles. But no one compared to that of my mother's appeal...she had a feisty personality and knew what she wanted in life wayyyyy before my dad. She was goal-oriented and that's what made him put a ring on it! Plus, she supported all his business endeavors.
"Hey sweetie! Are you almost there?" I can hear the seagulls gawking in the background which means she outside on the beach somewhere as usual.
"Hey mom, I'm about 2 hours out according to my GPS. I've been mentally preparing myself for work and just living in the city solo for a few months."
"I'm sure you'll be fine! Robin will be there and you guys can go back to your usual routine except for you all being hard-working women in the city. It's time for you to get out of your shell, baby! Mommy is counting on you to work hard, find a man and maybe give me some grandchildren."
"How about I work for a few years and maybe I'll listen to your request." She was always an idealist...dreaming of the perfect life for me. Mom always mentioned how I'll meet someone as good as my dad. I'm sure if she wasn't as busy as him, she would be singing a different tune. I guess they're marriage and lifestyles work for them. My parents might not see each other often like normal couples but my dad makes it his business to spend at least 2 weeks with her out of the entire month. He flies her back home or he just goes there...it was smart of him to open multiple firms worldwide and they so happen to be where my mom frequently travels.
"Well I'm not gonna hold you up, honey! I love you and want what's best for you! Continue to make us proud...smooches!"
Gotta love that woman...now, I'm stuck with a stupid grin on my face. My mom sure knows how to send positive vibes your way even from thousands of miles away.
