Donghyuck was totally faded as he walked back to Jaehyun's house, his shirt in his hand. He would be lying if he said he hadn't fooled around with Doyoung just a little bit, but he was lonely.
And high.
"Donghyuck!" The minute he opened the door, Mark pounced on him, giving him a big hug. He pulled away and looked at Donghyuck, giving him the 'you're busted' look.
"You smell like weed."
Donghyuck rolled his eyes and shrugged Mark's hands off of him. "Probably because I am high. But don't worry, I can still help your precious Jaehyun."
"I thought you were getting better," Mark mumbled, but Donghyuck heard him.
"Yeah, I was, but apparently the only way I can get your attention is if I'm high or kissing Doyoung. So, fuck you, Mark Lee." Donghyuck's voice cracked as pitiful tears streamed down his face. Mark was going to retaliate, tell Donghyuck he was wrong, but he couldn't. He was right. Mark really didn't pay attention to him unless he was in trouble. He didn't know anything about Donghyuck. What's his favorite color? What does he like to do? What does he want to be when he gets out of high school?
"I'm sorry," he whispered as he pulled the crying boy into another hug. Donghyuck just sobbed into his shoulder. Mark could feel the tears seeping through the thin fabric, but he could care less in that moment.
The pair heard an awkward cough from behind them.
"I wanna ask what's wrong, but I know it's not my business. So, uh, we're leaving in an hour," Jaehyun spoke quickly, desperately trying not to ruin the golden Markhyuck moment.
"Okay, I'mma go change," Donghyuck broke away from Mark, brushing past Jaehyun and walking into the room Mark stayed in.
"Is he okay?" Jaehyun asked when Donghyuck disappeared behind the door.
"He's getting there." Mark gave Jaehyun a sad smile, still feeling partially responsible for Donghyuck's pain.
"If you say so. I'm going to go get Ten and we'll meet you outside." Jaehyun patted his shoulder sympathetically, leaving Mark alone in the living room.
Alone with his thoughts.
