"Well, for being so mean to ____ all the time and yelling and breaking things and hitting us and stuff."

It had officially been two weeks since the last time Mark had talked to Donghyuck, but he physically couldn't. If he left the house for more than five minutes, Taeyong was on his back, forcing him to go back and not allowing him to leave for days. Mark didn't want to date Taeyong, those were never his intentions. Hell, after Donghyuck, he didn't even wanna see him again. Everytime he heard Taeyong walk through the front door, his heart stopped. He would mentally imagine the house, and pray nothing was messed up. Last time he had left dishes in the sink or clothes on the floor, Taeyong had hit him, telling him how useless he was.

But Mark knew he deserved it. After what he did to poor Donghyuck, he deserved all the disrespect and torture he got. The way he felt was probably how Donghyuck had felt when he caught them, and that thought kept him from avoiding the beating.

Donghyuck was crazy. He was slowly losing his mind. Everyday was a constant ball of stress and anxiety to him. No matter what Mark thought, Donghyuck still loved him, and he could picture the day Ten told him about Taeyong so vividly.

He had walked in the door, looking sadder than normal, almost weighed down.

"What's wrong?" Donghyuck had asked, handing him a coffee and sitting him on the couch.

"Johnny told me something today," he whispered, looking at Donghyuck with tear filled eyes. Johnny had gotten a job at the club Donghyuck worked at. He worked at the bar, and was one of the best bartenders at the club. "He saw Mark and Taeyong today. But," Ten inhaled, obviously fighting back tears, "Taeyong hit him. He said Mark had ruined his chance to fuck around with someone at the dance floor, and he hit him. Johnny said it was awful, like Mark was used to it. He showed no reaction."

Donghyuck stared at Ten in surprise, comprehending his words. He was speechless, worried, and sad all at the same time.

The feeling never faded.

"I need to save him," Donghyuck said, sounding like a dramatic protagonist. Ten looked at him and nodded, seemingly unsurprised.

"Oh, come on, I need a better reaction than that," Donghyuck groaned. Ten raised an eyebrow at him and let out a lame cheer.

"Gee, thanks. Now, where did Jaehyun live?"

Mark heard a knock, startling him from his trance. If it was someone he knew, Taeyong would kill him for sure. No one was allowed to know about them, because Taeyong had a 'reputation' to keep. But Mark was desperate for some sort of outside contact. Taeyong took his phone, and he felt imprisoned. But Taeyong wasn't here, he was out with one of his many sluts, so Mark took a risky move and opened the door. His eyes recognized the figure and immediately burst into grateful tears.

Donghyuck reached out, forgetting everything Mark did to him, and engulfed him in a huge hug. Mark flinched in his arms, making Donghyuck's heart break a little.

"What did he do to you?" He asked sympathetically, gently running a finger along a cut on his face.

"I'm so sorry, Donghyuck. I deserve this, I'm sorry." He continued to cry, his tears never slowly down.

"Mark, listen to me," Donghyuck said, forcefully grabbing Mark's shoulders, "No matter what you did to me, you don't deserve this." His voice softened, "Cheating doesn't compare to abuse, love."

Mark nodded skeptically.

"Let's get you out of here, okay?" Donghyuck smiled, pulling the boy towards the front door.

"Let's not," a voice spoke, a murderous edge to his tone. Taeyong leaned against the door frame, a psychotic grin on his face. "Donghyuckie~ I don't like you touching what's mine."

"Well, last time I checked, it was stolen property." Donghyuck scowled, instinctively hiding Mark behind him. The older boy was shaking in fear, and Donghyuck could only imagine what he went through.

Taeyong's eyes narrowed, drawing Donghyuck's attention to them. They were still that odd color, and something in Donghyuck clicked. He remembered Jaehyun mentioning a personality disorder when they went to save him. Now that Jaehyun was gone, who was stopping this alter ego?

"Taeyong, this isn't you."

"Um, then who the hell is it?" Taeyong gave him an amused smile.

"This isn't the you Jaehyun loved," Donghyuck maintained eye contact, and for a mere second, he swear he saw his eyes flicker.

"Jaehyun would never love a cheating whore, who kidnaps people and breaks relationships."

"Yeah, well, Jaehyun doesn't know. Because he's fucking dead!" Taeyong screamed, all the agony in his voice showing.

Donghyuck knew he finally got Taeyong to crack. Whether he figured out from his sobs, or the change in his eyes, maybe even the way he apologized, no one will ever know. But Taeyong cracked.

Mark had been listening from the safety of Donghyuck's back. If he knew anything about Donghyuck, it was that he had a way of hitting people's soft spots. He knew what to say to make people snap, whether it be good or bad.

"Get some rest, Taeyong," Donghyuck said, leading the boy to the living room couch. Taeyong weakly nodded, falling on the couch with a thud.

"C'mon, Mark. Let's leave him." Mark followed after Donghyuck, who was already out of the front door. They walked down the street in silence, both questioning different things. Donghyuck was questioning his relationship and Taeyong's behavior, while Mark was questioning whether or not to grab Donghyuck's swinging hand. Eventually, he gave into his thoughts, slowly intertwining his fingers with Donghyuck, almost like a silent apology. Donghyuck didn't reply, instead he gave Mark's hand a light squeeze, which gave him the answer he needed.

'It's okay'

Of course Donghyuck wouldn't forgive him that easily, but Mark learned his lesson, and they both loved each other. He was willing to forgive, if Mark was willing to forgive himself.

Donghyuck was ready to start from square one and rebuild his relationship.
