(Recap)
Gladion stared in awe at the combination. He then regained his composure and called back his Zubat. "Impressive; however, I'd like to see you defeat my next Pokemon." He said. Gladion sent out a Pokemon that I had never seen before. It has some sort of mask around its face; its front legs like the ones of a bird-like Pokemon. The legs in the back were furry and had paws; as for its tail, it looked like the fin of a Magikarp. The chimera-like Pokemon growled a unique cry that I had never heard before; it was beautiful yet ominous at the same time. This Pokemon...What exactly it is? And why does it looks so sad?

Mysty Pov
I decided to keep out my Noibat; convinced that the mysterious creature was Gladion's strongest Pokemon. "This is Type:Null; my most powerful Pokemon." Gladion stated. Type:Null? What a strange name for a Pokemon. "Use Tackle!" Gladion ordered his Pokemon. Even though it was bigger than Noibat; my partner was much smaller and faster; so he was able to dodge the attack.
"Nice try! Noibat! Fly under Type:Null and use Dragon Pulse!" I commanded my bat-like friend. He cried out and flew low towards the opposing Pokemon; flipping over as he flew under Type:Null and blasted its belly with his attack. The creature cried out in agony as it fell to the ground; down, but not out. "Type:Null!" Gladion called out to his Pokemon; before glaring at me. "What the hell was that?!"
I knew he was talking about the stunt I pulled with Noibat. "It's called creative strategy; try it sometime." I replied as Noibat appeared beside me; awaiting my command. The opposing Pokemon weakly got back up. Gladion grunted with frustration. "Use Tackle again!" He yelled. Type:Null ran at Noibat with whatever strength it had left. Such determination... I looked at the Pokemon; then to the blonde-haired boy. In both of them. "Gladion." I said to the boy.
He stared at me blankly. "I see hidden potential in both you and your Pokemon; however, I feel as if something is holding you back." He looked me in the eyes; which allowed me to see many secrets hidden within his. "How would you know; if I was holding back?" He inquired. I watched as Noibat dodged Type:Null's attack. "I can see it in your eyes; Gladion. They say that eyes are a window to the soul; and yours are telling me you're being held back by either something or someone." I replied knowingly.
Gladion seemed taken aback by my answer; but tried to remain composed. "You know nothing about me." He said with his fist clenched. Type:Null tried to use Tackle on Noibat again; but it was too weak and slow to land a hit. "Perhaps I don't; but even I can see that you aren't going all out." I replied blandly. Gladion's eyes narrowed at me; but I could see that I had hit a nerve. "Type:Null." Gladion spoke to his partner. The creature stopped attacking Noibat and looked to its owner.
"That's enough; we've lost." The creature cried and went over to Gladion. He admitted defeat so calmly; like he knew he was beaten. "Noibat; come back." I told my Pokemon; who was hovering around Type:Null. He flew over to me and landed on my shoulder. Gladion had a look of frustration on his face. "Hmph; seems that I'm still not ready." He said aloud. I rose an eyebrow. Ready? Is he training to be prepared for something?
"Mysty; I now have seen what you're capable of. You're not like your friend; you are creative with your attacks and don't hold back. A strong trainer like yourself was worth my time." Gladion returned the creature to its ball. I saw two people walking up behind him; a guy and a girl; who were dressed like the same Team Skull grunts I had dealt with on Melemele Island. "Ain't that cute? Gladion has found himself a girlfriend!" The male teased.
The girl put a hand on her hip. "I guess it's no surprise that a homeless kid would want some company." The girl commented. I glared at the two newcomers. "What the hell do you two want?" I asked coldly. They both pretended to have terrified expressions. "Oooo~ I'm so scared~! Whatever will I do?" The girl said sarcastically. The twosome laughed as I reached for Luxio's Pokeball. "Hey! You lookin' for a battle?!" The male grunt challenged.
