What's up with it? The Shinx then walked over to the Luxury Ball and tapped its nose against it; causing the ball to ensnare it. The ball automatically clicked and I sat there; dumbfounded by what had just happened. Shinx wanted to come with me all along? I picked up Shinx's ball and smiled. "I promise, I won't let anybody hurt you while you're by my side. I'll make you strong; and eventually, give Team Skull payback for harming you." I said to Shinx's ball; hoping that'd he'd hear me from within the Luxury Ball.

Mysty Pov

I placed Shinx's ball on my belt and Noibat returned to his spot on my shoulder. I sighed happily and looked to my partner. "Let's go catch up to Kukui." I said to him. He cried in agreement as I continued walking down the route. We passed through Route 1 and made it to the entrance of Iki Town. Lillie and Kukui were both waiting for me there. "Mysty! Glad you made it!" Kukui greeted me. "Kahuna Hala has been waiting for your battle!"

The Kahuna was at the steps to the arena; with his arms crossed. "Y-You got this; Mysty!" Lillie assured me. Her bag moved once again; and I heard Nebby's cry. "I think Nebby is wishing you luck as well." I looked around the area and spotted Hau talking to a lady who looked similar to him. Must be his mother. "Alright; well, I'll go battle Hala now." I told Lillie and I walked towards the Kahuna; who smiled down at me. "Are you ready to battle me? If you win, you'd have completely Melemele Island's trial and will earn the Fightium Z-Crystal." Hala inquired.

I hummed in response. Hala walked up the steps and into the arena; myself following him and taking my place on the opposing side. He stomped on the ground and took his battle stance. "I'll be going all out; so you should as well!" Hala announced and threw up a Pokeball into the air; releasing a Mankey. I reached for Shinx's Pokeball; hoping to test out his battling skills. "I have faith in you." I whispered as I released Shinx into battle.

He cried out menacingly; startling the Mankey. "Well what do we have here? Looks like you finally made a new friend!" Hala exclaimed happily. "I was getting worried that you'd only count on your Noibat for your entire journey." I hummed and Shinx looked up at me with determined eyes. "This will be the first time I've seen you battle; so let's do our best with what we've got." I said to him. He nodded and faced the Mankey. If my knowledge is correct; then Shinx should know at least one Electric-type move.

"Shinx! Show me your moves! Attack!" I called out to my Pokemon. He cried in response and ran at the Mankey. "Use Focus Energy!" Hala ordered his Pokemon. The Mankey stared intently at Shinx and was pumped for his attack. Shinx's mouth emanated blue-colored electricity and a giant set of teeth appeared in front of him. He bit down on the Mankey; shocking it with many volts of electricity and throwing it across the arena. That was Thunder Fang! Such a powerful move for a Shinx. I couldn't help but smile.

I truly have luck when it comes to befriending strong Pokemon. "Excellent attack! Show me another move to finish it off!" I called out to Shinx happily. He glanced at me and smirked. "Mankey! Use Tackle!" Hala ordered his Pokemon. The Mankey ran at Shinx; Tackling him. Shinx, however, bite down on the Mankey's leg as it attacked and another set of jaws appeared in front of his attack. This time, their were an icy-white color and the Mankey leaped back with ice crawling up its leg. Ice Fang too?! Amazing!

The Mankey wobbled and toppled over; fainting from the attack. "Wow, that was awesome!" I told Shinx. He puffed up his chest with pride as Hala called back his Pokemon. "Well done! Now for my second Pokemon!" He exclaimed and summoned a Makuhita from its ball. The Pokemon cried out to Shinx; earning his attention. "Shinx! Keep showing me what you've got! I want to be able to defeat Hala with only you! Noibat has battled so many trainers and you haven't battled alongside me 'till now! Show me your strength! We can win this together!" I said to my Pokemon. He cried out and leaped into the air; aiming at the Makuhita with flames surrounded his mouth. Is he going to use another Fang attack?
