Chapter 8: Black and White

"Finally she speaks nearly two days and you've given me nothing but small talk and weird looks" Blake glares at Sun frowning at his comment.

"Yeah like that"

Blake rolls her eyes "Sun are you familiar with the White Fang"

Noctis rises her eye-brow and looks back up from the counter and signals Washington to their table he nods slithering towards them.

"Of course! I don't think there's a faunus on the planet who hasn't heard of them stupid holler creeps that use force to get whatever they want, bunch of freaks if you ask me."

Blake takes a sip of her tea then places it down "I was once a member of the White Fang"

Sun chokes on his tea and starts coughing "Wait a minute you!? Were a member of the White Fang!"

"That's right I was a member of the White Fang, I was a member for most of my life actually, you could almost say I was born into it" Blake sighs avoiding the eyes of Sun.

"Back then things were different in the ashes of war the White Fang was to be a symbol of peace and unity between humans and the faunus... Of course, despite promised equality, the faunus were subjected to discrimination and hate." Blake clenches her fists in anger remembering.

Noctis listened closely her head down remembering her old village and how they used to treat her.

"Humanity still saw us as lesser beings and so... the White Fang rose up as the voice of our people and I was there I was at the front of every rally, I took part in every boycott and I actually thought we were making a difference but... I was just a youthful optimist." Blake looked at the reflection of her in her tea.

"Then five years ago our leader stepped down and a new one took his place, a new leader, with a new way of thinking... suddenly our peaceful protests were replaced with organised attacks we were setting fire to shops that refused to serve us, hijacking cargo from companies that used faunus labour" She frowns remembering all the things they'd done.

"And the worst part was, it was working we were being treated as equals but not of respect but out of fear" Sun stares at Blake shocked.

"So I left I decided I no longer to use my skills to aid in their violence and instead I would dedicate my life to becoming a Huntress... So here I am a criminal hiding in plain view all with the help of a little black bow" Blake wiggles her cat ears under the bow before glancing back at Sun.

"So, have you told your friends any of this?"

Blake closes her eyes and looks down in shame.

"Get the hell out you stinkin faunus"

Blake and Sun turn their attention to a fat man shouting at a faunus couple, Blake clicks her tongue in annoyance but before she can stand a certain bartender walks up to the man.

"What seems to be the problem here sir?" her cold monotone voice interrupts.

"YES THERE IS A PROBLEM I'M NOT EATING HERE WITH DISGUSTING ANIMALS"

"There is no need to shout sir I am standing right here, and by disgusting animal such as yourself you only need to walk out the door"

Sun covers his mouth trying not to laugh while Blake smirks at her comment.

"YOU! LET ME TALK TO THE OWNER I'LL GET YOU FIRED YOU BI-"

"Now now, watch your profanity and if you want the owner she is standing right before you, also she is telling you to leave"
