chapter 10 - Training 2

Katie's POV

I woke up and Isaac was gone. It was weird because Isaac never left before I did. I brushed it off and got Kc up. We cleaned up and changed for the day.

"I heard you're training with the pack today, sis." Kc said as we were walking to breakfast.

I looked down at him and smiled,"Yea, I'm doing good in training. I had a few fights with Jason yesterday and won. I have to say that the practice with Maddie had me ready. She help helped me get stronger."

"Well I'm happy." Kc said as we entered the dinning room.

"Me too." I whispered and we went to our seats. We sat down and started to eat. I looked to Maddie and asked,"Have you seen Isaac?"

She shook her head and said,"No I thought he was with you-"

"He's out training already." Jason interrupted. I nodded then continued to eat. After breakfast, I dropped Kc off, and walked with Jason and Maddie to training.

When we got there, Isaac was already training and so was a few other pack members. Isaac stopped when he sensed my presence. He looked up and smiled. "We are going to do one on one fights today. Everyone will go and if you win, you go again against another winner. If you loss, you will have to train an extra hour. When the rounds continue, and you lose later than the first round, five minutes will be taken away from the hour. You will fight by your experience. Now let's begin. I'll call you up when it's time."

The class went on. It started with a few new fighters then it was my turn. I was against another girl named Rebecca. She was taller than me but not by much. Her hair was black and her eyes were a dark brown. We both stood ready for a whistle. When it went off she lunged right at me. I dodged to the side and waited for her to get back on her feet. She looked irritated and her eyes darkened. She went to punch me but I dodged down and tripped her. She fell again and growled. She jumped up shortly after but this time waited for me to move. She didn't seem to have as quick reflexes so I tried a fake punch. She blocked it late so knew I see I was right. I punched again at her shoulder. She tried to punch my face but I moved my head. After I hit her, she rubbed her shoulder.

She was getting mad and everyone could see that. She kicked my side and I blocked it. When I blocked her, I didn't see her fist coming to my face. She hit me good in the eye and my head flicked back. I quickly recovered and saw she tried to trip me. I jumped over her leg then punched her face. She kicked me in the stomach and I hunched over. She grabbed my hair and pulled me to her side then put me in a headlock. I smiled to myself and did my favorite move. I flipped forwards under and over her arm. She ended up flat on her back. I grabbed her arm and turned her over then put her arms behind her back. She growled and the fight ended. I let go and started to walk away when I heard her get up fast. I knew she was gonna lunge at me. So once I heard the crack of the sticks, I ducked. She flew over me and landed on the ground again. I walked over to her and put my hand out for her to grab. Her face lighted and she gave me a small smile taking my hand. I helped her up then walked back to Maddie and Jason.

Jason patted me on the back and Maddie smiled. "Wow Katie, I didn't know you had that in you. You were great!"

"Yea, I've never seen that move you did to get out of that headlock. Now that, that was great!" Jason said and I smiled.

"Yea, that's my favorite... I think I'm gonna get a black eye." I said and rubbed my eye.

"Yea, she got you pretty good." Maddie said and I nudged her. "What? I'm just saying. That was good... how she fake kicked you just to punch you."

"So where is Isaac?" I asked Jason and Maddie.

"When your were up, he left. He couldn't watch if you got hurt. He would defiantly hurt whoever hurt you." Jason said and I nodded. "He put me in charge until he came back. So Shh I gotta pay attention. Tucker and Grace, your turn." The two walked up and started the fight. After a few minutes, I felt a hand around my waist. I knew it was Isaac.

"I watched from a window... You did really good." He whispered.

"Yea, thanks. She got me in the eye pretty good so I might have a black eye." I said and he growled. I put my hand on the one he had on my waist. He slowly became less tense and I smiled. "It happens, Isaac, it's training." I said calmly.

"I know but I still don't want you to get hurt." He said and I smiled to myself.

"Hey, it was a fight. I'm going onto another round, no extra hour for me. I gotta do good." I said and his grip tightened. I smiled and looked up at him. He looked at me and kissed my forehead. We both turned back and watched the fights. The first round finished and it was time for the next. Then half of the pack who was training that lost, went to the gym. The rest of us got ready for our second fight.

I was the third to go and fight. This time I was against a guy. His name is Zeke. "I really don't wanna fight you, Luna." He said and paused. "I don't want to hurt you... or have the alpha hurt me." He said quietly when we got in the middle.

"Hey, it's a fight. Just fight like I'm any other person, ok?" I said and he nodded. The whistle went off and he punched me right in my face. I was too slow and he hit me in the same eye as the girl did. I quickly recovered and blocked his next punch. I punched him in the ribs then his jaw. He went back a few steps but was in a stance again. He got close again then went to punch my face again and I dodged. When I came back up from the dodge, he hit me on the jaw. I fell back and was on the ground.

Isaac growled and Zeke froze. I looked at Isaac and he turned from Zeke to me. I glared at him but he turned back to Zeke. "Hey, Zeke." I said but he was still frozen. "Zeke! Remember what I said." I said and then he slowly nodded. "I got it, ok?" I said and he whispered ok. He started to come toward me but I jumped onto my feet. I punched him in the ribs again and he hit my shoulder. I knew there was only one way to win against Zeke. He went to kick me but I was already heading into action. I blocked his foot and punched his jaw then ribs. I tripped him and he fell on his back. I got on him and punched his face hitting his eye. He covered his eye and I took that time to put him in a headlock. the fight was over and I was able to win. I got up and helped Zeke up. "That was a good fight." I said and he laughed nodding.

"Yea, I lost." He said sarcastic as we walked out of the middle.

"Hey, you almost had me. I only had one last move and it... well it worked." I said and he laughed.

"Yea, it worked. It was pretty good. Glad I got to have a chance to practice with the Luna." He said with a smile and there was a growl. Zeke automatically lowered his head. I turned around and Isaac was there. "I'm sorry alpha." Zeke said.

"You're fine, Zeke. It's training. Just go back to the gym." I said and Zeke quickly left. I turned to Isaac and sighed,"It's just a training fight, Isaac."

He sighed and brought his hand up to my cheek. He rubbed my eye that was punched and put his forehead to mine. "I'm sorry." He whispered.

"It's ok." I said and he kissed my forehead. "Just please try not to freak out every time a guy talks to me or when I get hurt during a fight."

He sighed and said,"I'll try."

"Ok, good." I said and we continued training. There were only two more rounds and I made it past. Jason and Maddie also both made it. It was a good training. Isaac was proud of all the fights and we all left and did what we wanted. I got in the shower after Isaac and got ready for our date.

He left after I got out of the shower so I could get ready. I dried my hair and flat ironed it. Then I put on a sundress. It was white from my waist and up then floral at the bottom. It was one of my favorites. After I was dressed and had my white flats on, I did my make up. I put foundation on to cover my black eye and any other marks I had from training. After my foundation was done, I put a little eyeliner and mascara on. Now I was ready for our date.
