Chapter 14 - Fight

Katie's POV

We headed home and Issac informed the warriors on what had happened. The men began to prepare our home for battle while the women got the children in the shelter. The elderly women stayed with the kids as well as a few weaker girls then the rest prepared fro battle too. The warriors were in the dining hall preparing a battle plan while I was getting food and such into the shelter. Once I was finished, we showed Kc and the other kids the shelter plan. We were going to go on with our regular business but when the battle comes, the kids need to be ready to hide.

"Katie, why does it have to be like this?" he asked while playing with some toys.

"If people come to hurt you, Issac, the pack, and I we need to be ready," I said and he sighed.

"I know that, but why won't daddy just stop?" He asked, which made my heart brake. I picked Kc up and put him in my lap, and gave him a hug.

"You see how happy Issac makes me?" I asked and he nodded. "Daddy had that with mommy, and when mommy died... Daddy just wasn't daddy anymore," I tried to explain which made him cry. He was trying to be tough and hold his tears in, so I just pulled him into my chest to give him a hug. After he had stopped crying and whipped his tears, he got up and began to punch and kick.

"If you're going to fight," he said throwing his hands and feet more. "I am too!" 

I grabbed his hand and pulled him close to make it look like it was a secret, "I need you here to watch everyone and make sure they do what they are supposed to." A smile grew on his face and he shook his had rapidly to say 'yes'. I laughed before saying, "Now go play!" I watched him run over to the kids and he waved goodbye as I left. I went back into the dining hall to have Issac tell me the plan.

"Katie, you are stationed with the pups," Issac said and I got mad. 

"What do you mean? I should be out there with you and everyone else!" i said in frustration.

"You and Kc are all he wants, if you're out... they will try to hurt you," He said and I got mad.

"And if you're out there, they are going to try to hurt you!" I shouted before shoving my finger into his chest. "I don't NEED protecting anymore," I said with emphasis on need.

"Kat-" I began but I cut him off.

"No, I will be by your side, end of discussion," I said and he signed before mumbling 'fine'. "Now give me a kiss, it's been a long day," I said before grabbing his face to pull it down to mine. He kissed and our tongues danced. His arms went around my waist and pulled me closer. The kiss was long and hard, we both broke gasping for air. 

"I love you," he said leaning his forehead on mine.

"I love you too," I said before giving him a quick peak.

Rouges came in from all directions. They had us surrounded, but we were all prepared. We waited for them to make the first move as my dad ran froward at us all. Bodies collided as the rouges came forward, we approached them the same - fast and hard. There were screams and I would hear the hitting of fists and kicks. I stayed focus on one thing - my dad. 

Issac stayed close behind me. We were back to back as rogues came closer. A black rouge came from the right, knocking my on my side. I quickly got up and kicked it in the chest before changing into my wolf. It came back at my throat, but I quickly dodged it before kick it in the face. I heard it yelp before I turned around and bit it in the face. Issac came from the side and pulled it out of my mouth and tossed him into a tree. We mind linked:

Are you okay?

Fine. You?

Good.

Issac went to help the warriors who were getting hurt. I stayed close to the girls and we began to move forward. My dad was making his way through the crowd trying to reach me, but Issac ran into him before he was able to reach me. I listened to hear them fight as I bite into the leg of a rouge that Maddie was holding down. I felt a sharp pain in my tail and snapped my head to find a rouge biting me. I kicked it before Maddie jumped on top of it causing a yelp. She jumped over me and I watched as my dad was charging at me. She took his hit and feel to her side. Issac was laying on the group a few feet behind him. I growled in pain for my mate and ran head on at my father. We collided causing us both to fall back. 

He got up quickly charging at me again, so I moved out of the way. I knew his tricks, I needed to out think him. I didn't have to be stronger than him, I just needed to be a step ahead. He ran back at me again and I moved, just as I did before, causing him to stumble and fall. He got up and we stood face to face. I growled and he did back. I hardly ever saw my dad in his wolf form, which made me loose rain of thought. He bit my neck and I howled in pain. I tried to push him away with my paws but his hold got harder. I kicked him in the throat causing him to release me. I fell and he came at me again, but Issac stood in front of me. He growled and my dad attempted to go around him. Issac pushed him into a tree and help him by the throat. He pulled away and shook his head till I heard a snap. 

Issac dropped my dad out of his mouth and I watched as his wolf fell. I ran over and began to lick his face before I saw the gash on his side. I began to nuzzled under him so that he was on my back. I ran into the pack house and dropped his body on the flood. I mind linked the nurses to come care for him before I went back out. I saw Maddie and Jason back to back taking rouges on. There were so many of them. I ran towards them and began to join in. 

Fists and paws hit as feet kicked. Howls and growls continued with the fight. I saw many of our warriors pulling the last thing they had in them, snapping the neck. We all hated to kill, but when it was war - we had no choice. Rouges began to drop as the warriors did what they had to. I began to pull the inquired inside while the battle came to a end. We had won, but not without losing some of our own and many in pain. Once the rest of the rogues were dead or ran off, I shifted back before grabbing a blanket to cover myself.

I went to Issac and saw him lying on the couch now. He was growing pale and he has blood leaking out of his now bandaged wound. "I love you," he whispered as he whipped the tear from my cheek. "I'll be fine. The doc has me taken care of," he said and I nodded. I laid down beside him and he grunted. 

"I'm sorry," I said pulling away before he pulled me back down with him and I began to drift asleep.
