Mack
After that day in my apartment, I apologized to Paige. She didn't deserve me snapping at her the way I did.
I found her walking in the quad. Perfect. I made my way over to her. She saw me but kept walking, "And what do I owe to this unpleasant surprise?" Her tone was curt.
"I'm not unpleasant. I'm freaking delightful," I smirked.
"Keep telling yourself that. You will believe it someday," Paige snapped.
Ouch, that hurt.
"Okay, I was a little harsh the other day," I said as she walked.
She stopped and turned to me, "Harsh? Does harsh mean being the biggest prick that walked on the face of the earth?" She had a bite to her tone.
"Okay, I deserve that," I said to her.
"You deserve a smack too," she said, crossing her arms and giving me a look.
"Hey, let's not get too crazy. I admit I'm a prick, kiss your ass, and you forgive me," I smiled.
She looked at me.
"Look, I'll admit that I was wrong, which you should be happy because I'm never wrong. But after my dipwad friends set me straight on the error of my ways, I will admit I was wrong. If you ever tell them that, I will deny it. All I need is their heads to get bigger than they already are," I told her.
She looked at me, not smiling. This wasn't good. Then she stepped closer, smiled. I smiled, then she hauled off and slapped me across the face. Her smile disappeared as she turned around and walked away as I rubbed my face.
Okay. Plan B it is since this stupid plan didn't work.
I went and found the guys.
"Well," Bob asked.
"I apologized. We argued. Paige smiled. I smiled. She slapped me," I told them.
"Got to hand it to her. She's no pushover. She's perfect for you," Miguel said as I gave him a look.
"Now what?" Chad asked.
"Things are going to have to get physical here," I said to them as they all looked at me.
Paige was sleeping as someone leaned over, wearing a bandana over most of their faces. Her eyes popped open, and she screamed as they covered her mouth and picked her up.
I stood there with the other guys as Ian came out carrying Paige over his shoulder tied up.
"Can someone explain how I got picked to kidnap her?" He asked us.
"Because you drew the short straw and no offense, but I don't feel like going to the clink," Martin said.
"No one is going to the clink," I said, rolling my eyes.
"A black dude shows up wearing a disguise and kidnaps a single white woman. That's not stereotyping," Martin huffed.
"First, this isn't the 60s. Second, you're dating a white woman, or should I tell Brenda your theory on stereotypes?" I asked him.
"And get smacked, oh hell no. Brenda hates that shit," Martin exclaimed.
"Welcome to the 90s, my friend. You progressed over forty years. So proud," I faked sniffed.
"Screw you, Mack."
"Nah, you have a woman for that," I smirked.
"Can you two bicker about social issues later? She's getting heavy," Ian said as Paige yelled through her gag.
"Oh, fine," I rolled my eyes as I took her from him. I looked at her as she glared at me. "Hey Betty, fancy meeting you here," I commented to her.
She narrowed her eyes, and I opened the back passenger door, shoving her in, and shut it. She kicked at it as she flopped around like a fish. That is my kind of woman.
I got into the driver's side and pulled out of the driveway. The guys waved, then went for coffee.
I drove her to a dock and parked. I got out, opened the door, and dragged her nice firm buns out of the back seat. Focus, Mack. You can look at her buns later.
After closing the door, I hoisted her over my shoulder. I carried her to the dock, where I sat her down and untied her.
She stood there in her PJs with crossed her arms. I set up a tape recorder and pressed play, then walked towards her.
"Whatever you're doing, it won't work? I'm still mad at you," she said as a matter of fact.
"That's fine, I want a dance," I said as I took her hand and pulled her to me. I placed my hand on her lower back and started dancing with her.
As we dance, she laid her head on my shoulder, and I laid my head on top of hers. I danced with her as the song played. At that moment, I knew one thing; I had fallen for Paige Moore.
As the song played out, the tape player stopped, but we didn't. She lifted her head and said, "The music stopped."
"What music?" I said, looking at her.
We looked at each other as my heart was thumping in my chest.
"I'm going to kiss you now," I said as she looked at me. I leaned in and pressed my lips to hers.
Then it rained as we stood there kissing. That was the best damn kiss I ever had.
She had one arm around my neck and her other hand on my face as I gripped the back of her shirt. I never wanted it to end.
She pulled away and looked at me. I pressed my forehead against hers, "I like you a lot, and it scares the hell out of me."
"Good, because as big of a dink, you are, I like you too," she smiled, which caused me to smile. With that, I pulled her into another kiss. We would get the hell out of the rain at some point, but I preferred to kiss.
