For a moment I laid there, unmoving. I could feel no pain. I couldn't will my eyes to open. For a split-moment, I felt at peace. Then the pain came. Throbbing came from my mid-section and my head ached. My right shoulder burned dreadfully.
Slowly I was able to peel my eyes open, just to be met by a blinding light. Quickly shutting my eyes, I heard shuffling around me. I heard, what sounded like curtains being drawn. Then, a voice spoke out to me.
"It's alright, it's a bit darker now so your eyes shouldn't be bothered."
Blinking my eyes open, I fought the blurriness that my eyes held. Finally my eyes cleared and I could see that the room was now dimly lit, it was clearly a hospital room of some kind. Turning to where the voice came from, I saw a very pretty girl. She looked to be around 17, and she gave me a warm smile. No one, has ever been nice to me without some sort of reason. I felt hesitant to trust her. Nevertheless, I gave a small smile of my own.
My left hand went to my abdomen, I could feel that it had been wrapped. Glancing to my shoulder I could see a bit of bandaging past the sleeve of my shirt. My shoulder must be wrapped as well... Why would a complete stranger help me?
I am not worthy of being saved.
Looking at the girl once again, I mustered up a bit of courage to ask her, "What happened?"
"Well, I saw you fall from the cliff and I couldn't let you die. So I jumped in after you." She explained kindly. "How did you fall in if I may ask?"
I didn't want to tell her that I actually jumped. So I scrambled in my mind to find an answer for her. Just as she seemed to be getting suspicious, a door opened. Thus saving me from answering.
A tall and rather large man walked in, not large as in fat, but large as in extremely muscular. That alone felt intimidating to me, and not to mention the aura that surrounded him. He seemed to be a very powerful man. I was surprised to see him give me a kind smile. He walked closer towards me, and he sat in a chair near the bed I was on. My body instinctively tried to move further away from him, but I quickly stilled my actions as I did not know what could potentially set him off, and the fact that it sent a very painful stab to my abdomen. If he noticed my discomfort, he didn't acknowledge it.
"I am Benjamin Parker, this is part of my home that you are currently in." He said rather softly, as if not wishing to scare me
"Your home? I thought this was a hospital?" I confusedly stammered
"This is more of a recovery room." He stated and then continued on without giving me time to respond "My daughter Claire, brought you to me. You nearly died. If you weren't as strong willed as you are, you surely would have passed onto the next life."
Me, strong willed? Yeah right! This guy clearly has no idea what he is talking about.
"Claire," Turning to his daughter he spoke "please give me a moment with.."
"Elisa." I quietly managed to say. Why does he he want us to be alone? Is he going to hurt me too?? Why couldn't I have died! Why does God hate me so much?
"Of course dad." Claire said and then gave me a reassuring smile as she left. My heart was beating what seemed to be a mile per minute.
"Elisa, you can calm down. I'm not going to hurt you." That's what everyone says before they end up murdering you! and gosh, why did I have to give him my real name? Why didn't I say my name was Betris or something??
"I just want to ask you a few questions. Like what exactly were you doing on top of that cliff?" He asked with a warm tone to his voice. How can this guy still seem genuine and caring even though I am seriously freaking out?
I decided that not answering him was logical enough. Looking down at my hands I noticed that on of them was also bandaged. Benjamin let out a sigh, instantly making me regret my decision. Before I could utter out a single word he asked a different question.
"What hurts the most right now?" He asked while pulling a chart off of the stand that was next to him. "It says that you broke two fingers in your right hand, and that you dislocated your right shoulder, you suffered a minor concussion as well. You also clawed at your abdomen when you were brought in, but the doctors couldn't find out the reasoning behind it."
Honestly I'm not surprised. To be honest I've had worse injuries than this.
"Does your abdomen still hurt?" He asked, I could see genuine concern in his eyes.
"Yes." I answered meekly
"What did it feel like when it was in the worst amount of pain, and what does it feel like now?" He asked while grabbing a pencil to most-likely make some notes on the chart that he held in his hand.
"Honestly, it felt like I was being stabbed repeatedly in my gut. Now it's a mild throbbing, unless I move. If I move it makes it hurt more." I answered as truthfully as I could
He wrote some notes, and he looked even more concerned that he already did. That made me nervous. Is there something seriously wrong with me?
"Now, don't think that I am a nut job... but what do you know about Werewolves?"
Okay, I know... It's been a very long time. But this story has been bothering me and I didn't like how I abruptly ended it. So this idea for it has started in my mind, but I'm not exactly sure where this will go.
Please if there are any mistakes point them out to me and I will try to fix them as soon as possible. Any ideas where this story should go?
