Shuichi woke up between Kaito and Kokichi, yawning and standing up quietly. He wanted to go for a walk, just to see nature. The detective wrote a quick note saying he was leaving and grabbed his coat and earmuffs, heading out the door with his phone and keys in hand. Once Shuichi got outside, he took a glance around at the snowy neighborhood before locking the door. He felt a smile creep on his face as he saw Kaede and Miu walk by, holding hands and talking about whatever. He spotted Kiibo and Rantaro across the street sitting on their porch, laughing. Shuichi stepped down his porch stairs and began walking down the street, feeling the nice breeze hit his rosy cheeks. The raven haired male looked to see Gonta and Ryoma talking happily, Ryoma in Gonta's lap.

Suddenly, Shuichi heard a loud bang. He didn't exactly know what happened, but he stopped in his tracks in confusion. All of a sudden, a horrible pain shot through his back, making his eyes widen as he fell to the snow. He was so confused and panicked, vigorously reaching for his phone. He called Kokichi and desperately waited for an answer.

"whaat?" Kokichi groaned through the phone. "help.." Shuichi spluttered, coughing. Kokichi was up in seconds, running out the door and seeing Shuichi lying in the snow, bleeding out. "Oh dear god!!" Kokichi yelled, screaming for Kaito and kneeling next to Shuichi. Kaito came running, almost slipping. Kokichi called an ambulance and rushed the now unconscious Shuichi to the hospital. Kaito and Kokichi now waited quietly in the waiting room, nervously holding onto each other. The doctor eventually said they could come in. Kokichi dragged Kaito into the room, seeing Shuichi asleep on the bed.

The scene broke their hearts as they sat down, Kokichi letting out a quiet sob. Kaito looked at the smaller male and hugged him tightly

Shuichi was finally awake. The surgeons took out the bullet in his back and now he was walking around slowly. Kokichi was holding his hand with a soft smile since he was getting released soon. Shuichi looked down at him and smiled back. Kaito had gone out to buy food for the house, so it was only Shuichi and Kokichi in the room. It was quiet. Not uncomfortably, just a normal silence. Kokichi planted a kiss on the detective's hand, making the said male giggle. "Your being so cute, Shuichi~" Kokichi chirped, smirking. "i-i'm not-" Shuichi stuttered, bringing a hand over his face and looking away.

"I'm back!" Kaito yelled, coming in with a cake. "What's the cake for?" Shuichi asked. Kokichi let out a dramatic gasp, "While you were in a coma or whatever, your birthday passed by! Sooo we bought you a cake! Now sit!!" He pushed Shuichi down on the bed, who had a wide smile on his face. Kaito put a few candles in the cake and lit them, then him and Kokichi sang 'happy birthday' to Shuichi. The said male had his hands over his mouth, tears in his eyes. He raised a hand and wiped them away as the other two males hugged him. "Y-y-you t-two are..." Shuichi chuckled and let out a sob. He was crying happy tears, glad he had his lovers here with him. and took the time to throw this together just for him. Shuichi wrapped one arm around Kaito and the other around Kokichi. The three were giggling quietly, holding each other close.
