Chapter 4

Lacey's POV

"Matt? What are you doing here?" is all I could say. He was the last person I would've expected to be at the door.

"I decided to take a break from Magcon for a week and visit home. I missed you...and my family. I drove here from the airport." he answered simply. Did he say he missed me? I thought he forgot about me considering he never bothered to text me for a couple months.

"I missed you too. I can't believe you're actually here! No offense but I thought I would never see you again."

"How could you survive without me? I'm WAY to cool to live without." he smirked.

"Just shut up and come inside." I said. I wish he was staying more than a week though. I really want to hang out with him everyday like we used to.

"Do you have any food? I'm starving." Matt stated as he walked over to the fridge and looked through it like he was at his own house. This was normal for us, we each had two homes; my house and his house.

"You just got here and you're already making yourself at home?" I asked, laughing at how his arms and face were basically stuffed in the fridge.

"I didn't have a fridge full of food on the tour bus. I had a mini fridge with a little bit of food that I had to share with 10 other guys, but we did order pizza a lot which was awesome." Matt said with food in his mouth as he closes the fridge and starts to walk upstairs to my room.

There was nothing interesting in my room, it was like every other 16 year old girl's room. It was paint a light blue with pictures hanging on the wall. My bed was in the far left corner of the room with my dresser right next to it. My desk and closet are on the right side of the room.

"You know your room hasn't changed at all since I left?" Matt stated as he sat on my bed making himself comfortable as usual.

"I like it. There's nothing I want to change about it." I said, which was true.

"Can we watch a movie?"

"Sure. What do you want to watch?"

"CAN WE WATCH ALADDIN??? ITS MY FAVORITE DISNEY MOVIE EVER!!!" Matt exclaimed jumping up and down on my bed (that sounds dirty but it's not supposed to be).

"Yea let me get it from downstairs." I said as I walked out of my room and downstairs into the living room to search for the movie.

Matt's POV

Lacey just went downstairs to get Aladdin so we could watch it and I realized how much I missed being able to walk to her house whenever I wanted and hang out with her. I love Magcon and being on tour but I missed her SO much and if I ask her to be my girlfriend and I can't just leave right when we start dating, if, we start dating.

"I got the movie. Do you want to watch it on the bed or..." Lacey said awkwardly.

"Um, the bed is fine with me. Are you ok with it?" I answered because I really wanted to cuddle with her while we watched the movie and I don't think we could do that on the floor.

"Yea that's fine." she said.

When we started the movie there was some space between me and Lacey. After a little while I scooted over a little bit then she scooted closer to me and closed the gap so we were laying next to each other. About halfway through the movie she looked like she was going to pass out at any second.

"You look kinda tired. If you want, you can lean on me and rest your eyes. I'll wake you up when the movie's over." I said, hoping she would say yes.

"I am kinda tired. Just wake me up when the movie's over." she said as she put her head on my chest and I put my arm around her bringer her even closer to me than she already was. I wish it could be like this all the time, but next time I want to be able to say 'I love you' and call her my girlfriend.

Lacey's POV

"I am kinda tired. Just wake me up when the movie's over." I said as I put my head on Matt's chest and he put his arm around me, I could hear his heartbeat. You would think this would be weird or awkward considering we've been best friends since preschool, but it didn't. It was comfortable, almost natural.

Even though my eyes were closed I wasn't sleeping, I was thinking. I've always thought of Matt as a brother, but when he told me he was going on tour and he wouldn't be around all the time, something inside me hurt. I really didn't want him to leave. That's when I realized I really liked Matt.

I wish we could do this all the time and I could tell him I loved him because I do. Even though we aren't dating I've known Matt my whole life and he's always been there through the ups and downs. He understands me more than anyone else, including me sometimes, and I can honestly say that I love him. But I can't tell him because he's just going to leave again and not come back for a couple more months. He might not even like me back, just because we are cuddling and watching a movie together doesn't mean he likes me. We used to do this all the time I just usually didn't fall asleep in his arms. Why does love have to be so complicated?

Hey guys it's Tori! This chapter was hopefully longer than the other ones. I'm planning on doing a flashback for the next chapter to before Matt left for Magcon but idk.
