Austin's POV

Lacey just went on her first date with Matt. Ew. I've never believed in love and I still don't, although I don't think Matt is going to break her heart. But if he does I'll break him.

Ring, ring!

All of a sudden my phone started ringing, when I looked at the caller ID: 911. Why would 911 be calling me?

"Hello?" I asked confused and worried because 911 is calling me.

"Hi, are you related to Lacey Nicole Woods?" the lady on the phone asked.

"Yes, why?" I asked really worried now.

"Lacey Nicole Woods just got in a serious car accident with Matthew Lee Espinosa. We are bringing them to the closest hospital at the moment."

"What? Are they going to be ok?" I'm really freaking out now. Lacey could be really hurt...or worse.

"I don't have any of that information yet, all I know that it was a serious accident and that Lacey Nicole Woods and Matthew Lee Espinosa are being sent to the closest hospital." the lady said on the phone just repeating the stuff she already told me.

"Ok, thanks." I said and hung up although she didn't deserve a thanks because she didn't really tell me much.

Oh crap! Lacey got in a car accident! What if she got really hurt? What if Matt gets really hurt and Lacey's fine? Or vice versa? Who should I call? Dad? Matt's parents?

I decided to call Dad first and tell him what happened, he said he would get to the hospital as soon as possible. When I told Matt's parents I could hear them crying and I felt really bad because I couldn't tell them if Matt was ok and they were out of town so they couldn't come see him. I told them I would update them whenever I heard something.

Once I was done calling people I rushed to the hospital to see if Lacey was ok. There aren't a lot of people in the waiting room which is good because I'm already freaking out and I don't even know what happened to Lacey and Matt yet. As soon as I got into the hospital I rushed up to the front desk.

"Hi, Lacey Woods and Matthew Espinosa just got here from a serious car accident. I'm Lacey's brother, do you know if they're ok?" I said in one breath.

"Let's see...I believe Matthew Espinosa is in surgery right now for a deep cut across his chest made by the seatbelt, the seatbelt seemed to be stuck in his chest when the paramedics took him from the car. He has a broken arm, a sprained ankle, and several cuts all over his body." The lady said as she stared at her computer.

"What about Lacey?" I asked worried.

"Lacey Woods is also in surgery for a traumatic brain injury. She has 3 fractured ribs, a broken leg, several cuts and bruises all over her body. The other car hit her first so she has more injuries than Matthew." the lady said.

"When are they getting out of surgery? When can I see them? Are they going to be ok?" I asked.

"I don't know, but if I find anything out I will let you know. You can sit in the waiting room if you want." she said as she pointed to the waiting room.

"Ok." I said and sat down in the waiting room.

I keep playing what the lady said over and over again. I still can't believe they got in a car accident. And it sounds like Lacey got really hurt, she can't die, I need her. She may be my annoying little sister but I love her and I can't lose her. If she leaves it will just be Dad and I, Dad would probably tune me out like he did when Mom died. And if Matt dies Lacey will be a mess. She's loved him as a brother, a best friend, and a boyfriend. She would be broken and I would have to help put the pieces back together.
