“SOPHIE!” Ann, my auntie, shouted, running towards me with open arms.
“Hey Auntie Ann!” I called, running into her hug.
“Call me Ann!” she said as she wrapped her arms around me, “now let's take a look at you!” I smiled widely as she took a step back and grabbed onto my shoulders. “My god, you've changed so much!”
“You haven't seen me since I was fifteen!” I laughed. We headed to the car park as I dragged my suitcase behind me. “So where are Harry & Gemma?” I queried, really keen to see them.
“Well, Harry's with the band and Gemma's at university but, don't worry, they'll be home before us,” she explained kindly, “and I think Harry's planned something special.” I raised my eyebrows, what was that supposed to mean? Oh well, I guess I was about to find out. We jumped into Ann's car and left the airport. We drove along the motorway, chatting away, while I looked out of the window, taking in the scenery of my home. I had missed it so much! The greenery, the vast fields, the quaint villages; it was everything I had remembered it to be. As we passed the sign saying 'Welcome to Cheshire,' my heart started racing. We were nearly there. I was about to see my cousins again and start my new life.
Ten minutes later, we pulled onto a very familiar driveway. “Here we go,” Ann said, turning of the ignition. I hadn't visited this place since I moved to the states but it still looked the same as ever... except for all the screaming girls just waiting to catch a glimpse of Harry. I jumped out of the car and winced as I heard the screams.
“Sophie!” Harry and Gemma yelled as they ran out of the house and enveloped me in a hug, causing the fans to go wild and pretty much deafen me.
“Let's go inside,” Ann said, leading the way into her terraced four bedroom house. That's one thing I didn't miss about England- the terraced houses. In the states my house was massive and their was more than just a wall separating my house from the next. Oh well, I survived in one for eleven years, how difficult could it be?
“Make yourself at home!” Ann said sweetly as she went into the kitchen, “would you like a cup of tea?”
“Yes please,” I answered. That was just what I needed after my flight!
“Say that again,” Harry ordered, grinning like an idiot.
“Yes please?” I said, raising my eyebrows as he cracked up laughing. “What?” I asked, rather confused.
“Oh nothing,” he said.
“You're a terrible liar,” Gemma interrupted as she sat down beside me on the sofa. “It's your accent, love. He's not used to Americans, he's only toured there once,” she added sarcastically, turning her head towards Harry who stuck his tongue out at her.
“Anyway,” Harry began, “I was thinking that tonight I'd take you out for dinner, show you the sites of my humble Cheshire.”
I couldn't help but laugh, “you haven't changed one bit.” He just glared at me with his arms folded across his chest.
“Are you coming to dinner or what?” he said as he peered out of the curtains, ensuring the fans had left. I made a mental note of Harry's impatience and nodded my head.
“Of course,” I said as Ann came back in with my tea, “are the fans gone?”
“Yep,” he said happily.
“I have to go back to work, Sophie, but the kids will look after you,” she smiled, nodding her head towards my cousins, “I'll be back late this evening though so I won't see you until tomorrow.”
“That's ok,” I said, taking sip of my tea.
“Bye mum,” Harry said, handing her her handbag and practically shoving her out of the door. I laughed slightly as Gemma rolled her eyes and walked upstairs. “Ok, now that they're gone, would you like that tour of Cheshire or not?” he asked.
