In Princess Twilight Sparkle's castle, she and her coltfriend, Garrett Shimmer, younger brother of Sunset Shimmer, were near the mirror that was the portal to the human world. The young princess was under a lot of distress. "Are you sure you want me to go in there?" asked Garrett as he looked at his marefriend with concern.

"Much as I'd like to go and help your sister, I can't," replied Twilight, "I have responsibilities here, and everypony needs me. Plus I promised Shining Armor I'd spend time with Flurry Heart." Garrett nodded, "True, family does come first. Remind me again why you didn't choose Starlight, especially since she also kinda knew Star Swirl." Twilight rolled her eyes and said, "She broke her hoof silly. Doctors say she can't go anywhere until her hoof heals." Garrett remembered and said, "Oh, right..." Twilight then gave her sly smile and said, "Besides, weren't you the one who said he wanted to make up for lost time with his big sister?" Garrett chuckled and said, "That I did... Still, I'm nervous. Especially since this will be my first time on a mission without you or the girls." Twilight put her wing on his back and said, "I am too. If there was a way, I'd gladly come with you. Truth be told, I'm terrified you and Sunset might have to face him... I never thought Star Swirl would envision something like this..." Garrett nodded and said, "Me too..." Twilight then got out the travelling belt, and put it on Garrett saying, "This contains money that will thankfully function in the human world. You'll have enough to get by for two weeks. Take the Canterlot Train that travels to New York. You'll be on that train for a week, so I hope you got something entertaining."
"Thanks babe," said Garrett as he smiled at his marefriend. "Just be safe okay?" asked Twilight as she looked at him with her worrisome eyes, "I love you Garrett." She hugged him tightly. "I love you too Twilight," said Garrett, "I'll tell Sunny you said hi." The two then kissed each other passionately on the lips. Once they stopped kissing, Garrett looked at the mirror, and then charged in, going into the portal. Twilight looked at the mirror and sighed, thinking of her beloved, hoping he would be safe. Meanwhile, Garrett travelled in the portal, until he then came out, and was in the human world. He was in his now human form. He'd seen it before a few months ago when he visited Sunset before she graduated. He was wearing a yellow t-shirt with his Cutie Mark in the center, a striped grey and white hoodie, blue jeans, and red and black sneakers. He then stood up on his hind legs. "Okay, I got this," thought Garrett as he wobbled on his hind legs, but then mastered standing and walking, "now to go to that train station..."
He then walked to the Canterlot Train Station, waiting his turn in line. Once he was at the front, he faced the clerk and said, "Hi, one ticket to go to New York please." Garrett paid for his ticket, and then went on the train, and sat down. The trip was going to take a week as Twilight said, but thankfully Garrett had the patience. One of the train attendants walked up to Garrett and asked, "Would you like to watch Netflix while on your trip, Mr. Shimmer?" Garrett smiled and said, "Sure. It's going to be my first time using this Netflix." The train started rolling, and Garrett wondered what to stream on this Netflix. There was one show that caught his interest... "Bo-Jack Horse-Man?" he read, "a show about an anthropomorphic horse that's a washed-up former sit-com actor? This I've gotta watch..." Garrett then proceeded to watch BoJack Horseman while on his way to New York.
