Kirsten’s P.O.V.

“This is our last day together,” Louis said slowly, and I nodded, my heart sinking quicker than the Titanic. I’d always known that we’d not have long before the boys were off on their tour, but these past few days with Louis had been so good, I’d completely forgotten.

“You’re going to have loads of fun on your tour.” I smiled brightly, trying to push every bad thought out o

f my mind. All that mattered was that I was sat here with Louis, eating cereal and drinking tea, while we looked at each other, and to be honest, I didn’t mind that I wouldn’t see him for a few weeks, because I had today to spend with him, and I loved him, and he loved me. As long as he was having fun and being happy, I didn’t mind not being with him for a while.

But that was a lie. I did mind, I minded so badly it hurt. I wanted to scream and shout, but I stayed quiet, trying to think of happier things. But I couldn’t. It was too hard.

“So... what are we going to do today?” I asked.

“Well... I’ve had a little idea. But I’m not telling you what it is yet. It’s a surprise.”

“Ooh... I like surprises.” I giggled.

“So you just need to finish your breakfast and get ready, and then I’ll take you. Okay?”

“Okay,” I smiled.

Ten minutes later, I came from Louis’ bedroom, where I had slept all night, wearing a cute flowery dress and converse trainers. I grinned at him and he grinned back, told me I looked beautiful, and we walked out the door, hand in hand.

“Are you gonna tell me where we’re going yet?” I asked. Louis shook his head.

He led me down the pavement towards where his car was parked. He opened it up and we climbed in. He started the engine, and half an hour later we were driving along the motorway, air conditioning cooling our faces and radio on at full blast.

“And now, we’ve got a great summery song – What Makes You Beautiful by One Direction!” The man on the radio said, and Louis and I laughed as the introduction started. We both started singing along and giggling.

After a while, I was starting to get bored. “Louis, will you tell me where we’re going now?”

“Okay, okay. I’ll give you a clue. We’re going to one of the tour locations.”

“Eh?” I said, and Louis chuckled and tapped his nose, refusing to tell me any more information.

Suddenly, my phone began to vibrate. “Hey, Kirsten? It’s Melissa. Where are you two? We’ve all come to see Rosie in hospital, and you’re not here.”

I gasped. I’d completely forgotten. “I’m so sorry Melissa! Tell Rosie I’m sorry! But Louis and I are hours away now... we’ll come and see you all later!”

“Fine, fine... have fun with Louis! I’ll see you later.” Melissa said, and she hung up. I leaned against the window, bored. I shut my eyes.

When I opened them again, Louis was shaking me.

“Kirsten! We’re here! Wake up!”

I rubbed my eyes and sat up in my seat. Louis jumped out the car and opened my door for me, and I climbed out sleepily. We were outside a large theatre-like place. He took my hand and we walked inside.

Louis went to speak to an important-looking man who was standing by a door that was labelled ‘Stage Door’. He then turned to face me and waved me over. He opened the door for me, and we went inside, and I gasped.

We were standing on a huge stage, in front of hundreds and thousands of empty seats. I looked around in amazement. Louis put his hand on my waist, and whispered in my ear, “Go and sit down. I’ve got a surprise for you.”

I went and sat down in a comfy seat in the front row, and watched as Louis ran off the stage. Suddenly, I heard loud music, which made me jump. It was the intro to What Makes You Beautiful. I grinned and settled back in my seat, watching and waiting for Louis to come back on stage.

He ran back on with a microphone in his hand, did a cartwheel, and then turned to face me. “You’re insecure, don’t know what for. You’re turning heads when you walk through the do-or-or.” He sang, pointing at me. “Don’t need make up, to cover up. Being the way that you are is enough.” He walked down the stairs at the side of the stage and came towards me. He knelt down in front of me, grabbed my hand, and sung right to me, “Everyone else in the room can see it. Everyone else but you.” Then he pulled me up and took me up onto the stage, where we both stood and sang the chorus to each other.

“Baby you light up my world like nobody else, the way that you flip your hair gets me overwhelmed, but when you smile at the ground it ain’t hard to tell, you don’t know, oh, oh, you don’t know you’re beautiful, oh, oh, that’s what makes you beautiful!”

Louis started doing pat-the-dog screw-the-lightbulb, and I fell about laughing. Louis didn’t sing the next part – instead he held the microphone out for me, and I sang a solo – and, looking out at the empty seats of the arena, I realised how much I loved singing and performing.

“You’re amazing Kirsten!” Louis flashed me a cheeky grin before pulling me in close to him, and kissing me romantically.

I thought it couldn’t get any better, when he reached into his pocket and pulled out 5 tickets. “Tomorrow night, you and the girls are coming to see us on tour. Front row seats. You’d better be there...” He smiled.

“Of course we will be.” I told him. “We wouldn’t miss it for the world...”
