A quick trip to the blacksmith.)
3,724I came back from the market in the village with Rin. The walk wasn't far as we were just outside of the town we were currently staying by. Today was hotter than most, summer air beating down on us and I couldn't feel the sunburns I know I would have later this evening. Rin was beyond bored with just camping out here and so I had the idea of going into the town. So after some convincing to Sesshōmaru and a bit of batting my lashes, her and I were able to do some exploring. The next morning we set out down the path towards the village. I made sure to warn her to stay close to me and hold me hand the entire time so she wouldn't get lost. And so with one hand holding a small basket and in the other her hand in mine we set off making our way into town. Luckily we were quick to find a market in the middle of it with stopping a few locals here and there for directions.
We spent all day there laughing and finding some very odd things, food that we hadn't even heard of before now and beautiful silks. What caught my eye past all of those things was the blacksmith shop. I had something particularly in mind that I've been wanting to get for a while and now seemed to be the perfect time. Something that would be specially crafted for someone who I was rather fond of. I just hope he finds the surprise as loving as I hope he will. I used most of the coins I brought handing them over to the blacksmith.
"Would that be all, miss?"
I nodded, "Yes, thank you."
"No problem, come back in an hour and they'll be ready for you."
I walked with Rin to the stall she was pointing at earlier choosing to spend some time there. It had these cute fish shaped buns that we could smell down the street and were excited to try them.
"What are you getting those for?" She asked while I handed to coins to the vendor who tiredly handed us to fish shaped buns.
"For Sesshōmaru but, don't tell him because it's a secret." I made a motion with my finger pressed against my lips to show her that he wasn't allowed to know. She returned the motion with a sneaky smile on her face.
"Where to next little bunny?" I asked looking around.
She pointed to another stall with small little figurines before took a bite out of the bun letting out a happy yell, "This is so good!"
I laughed nodding my head as I took a bite of my own the next stall getting closer to us as we walked. I hoped to buy her at least a few more clothing for her before we leave.
In the end I did manage to get her four kimonos that she liked and to say I was picky with my clothing... I let out a sigh of relief when we finally made it back to the blacksmith. My surprise ready in a little box.
"Would you like the other one in a box too?" He asked holding it out to me.
I nodded not wanting to wear mine just yet just in case...
"Here you go ma'am." He handed me the two boxes and I set them in the basket I carried.
When we finally made it back to our little campsite it was already late in the evening. We had everything we were looking for. Kimonos for Rin with a few toys for her as well and also a new hat for Jaken. I prompted Rin as soon as we got back to go tell Jaken all about our adventures today and to also to give him his gift while I went to go talk to Sesshōmaru. I handed her the basket making sure to take out the two most important things to me at the moment and watched as she hurried off with all of her new things excitement in her eyes when she found Jaken sitting in the grass by the fire pit her was feeding. I wasn't worried for Rin knowing she understood not to go near the fire and how dangerous it was. For a child she was smart beyond her years.
