"I can do it! Just let me get out there!" Shippo was jumping left and right as if he was about to get into a fist fight with someone.
"He might be able to lead them here quicker?" Kagome voiced.
"I don't think it's a good idea for him to go, especially all alone with no idea of where we are." I shook my head bringing Shippo onto my lap.
He folded his arms acting like the tough little guy he thinks he is but, we all know he's happy with the final decision.
Kagome nodded, "Inuyasha will find us."
"When my brother is determined nothing will stand in his way."
"Let's just hope we can last until then."
"This pack doesn't seem dangerous... More so scared. Being kicked out of their homeland. I could only imagine what that must feel like. If there is any way we can help them... Jewel or not, we should at least try." I nodded towards a small group of kids playing with sticks.
"I agree with that." Kagome smiled when one of the kids spun around trying to do a kick move, "How do you feel about this mate bond of yours though? What will happen when this is all over? We still have the rest of the jewels and Naraku to find."
I took in a breath my eyebrows scrunching together in deep thought. What will happen to us? Mates aren't suppose to just leave each other after they find one another. They are to be together forever yet he has a pack to lead and I have a quest to complete... I wasn't prepared for this at all.
"I don't know..." I answered honestly, "Let's just... Let's help them get their home back first."
Koga returned just before the moon fully rose into the darkened sky. Not even a sweat drenched him while he carried his hunt on his left shoulder. The pack cheered to all the men and women who returned and a fire was lit for the feast. It was lively and the pups were greedily trying to take their share only for their mothers or fathers to scold them to be patient. It made me laugh reminding me of when my brothers and I were small although Seshoumaru didn't take kindly to Inuyasha... Well he still doesn't. Kagome offered me food plated on a large leaf and I was surprised at how good it tasted. After we ate I declared I would take first watch so both Kagome and Shippo could get some much needed rest after today but, I let them know that I doubt any harm would come to us here, not with my mate making sure of that. They slept soundly and I prayed to the maker above for the rest of our small family to find us and maybe with a little, okay a lot of persuading they will help us save this pack too.
I was brought away from my thoughts when Koga took a seat next to me, "I hope you feel safe here."
I looked up at him, his face illuminated by the fire and my heart was suddenly warming at the sudden attention he was giving me. How he cared if I felt safe around him. My soul already said yes. I sighed turning my head away, what is this mate bond doing to me?
"If you weren't my mate I think I'd feel differently. You did ambush us and technically kidnapped me."
He laughed leaning back on his right hand, "Well life has a funny way uniting people or in our case not so human."
I laughed at his all too cheesy joke, "Yeah, I suppose it has. A wolf and a dog. Ironic huh?"
He took a moment to really look at me and heat rose to my cheeks when he didn't look away, "You are so beautiful. I never imagined my mate could look as heavenly as you."
