Talia Greycott POV

I stood motionlessly as the body of the demonic beast collapsed on the ground, creating a mini earth shake. I swung my katana to the side, shaking off the dark purple blood of the demonic beast and returned it into it's sheathe. Scanning the area, I looked if there were more beasts that were present. When I confirmed that there was none, a high pitched scream suddenly came from the place where the royals were. My eyes widened in panic. 'OH HELL! I forgot about them!' I thought as I ran as fast as I could to aid the people inside.

I slammed the door open, almost removing it out of its hinges. The scene that screamed 'betrayal' laid out in front of my eyes. The purple guy that I was suspecting was holding the young prince that was crying in his grasp while the soldiers that were supposed to protect the queen and king, restrained them in what seemed like thick ropes that were sealed with some kind of dark spell.

"W-who are you! Knights, seize her!" As soon as the purple guy said that, swords and staffs were pointed in my direction at all sides, cornering me. 'So there were also mages in this room, how unfortunate.' I thought as I doubted that I could take anymore damage as I looked at my HP. 'Combining all the magic powers the mages have, my HP would be reduced to at least to two thousand. While battling with the Demonic Beast, my HP had been dropping fast' I thought.

Even though I knew that I didn't stand a chance and wouldn't come out unscathed, I spoke firmly in a low voice, "Release the royals, now."

The purple guy raised his eyebrows and chuckled arrogantly. "Oh? And what are you going to do? Cry and call for daddy? Well too bad, he can't. The demons have probably dealt with him already." My eyes widened and I looked at him in anger. "What did you do!?"

"Well, why would I say that? That's what he gets for sticking his nose into someone else's business. Let's go, we're wasting too much time here. Kill her!" He ordered as he went straight for the door I came in, dragging the flailing and crying young prince with him. "Mommy! NO! Let go of me! Daddy!" The prince cried for help from his parents. "Now, now. Mommy and Daddy is just going to stay here, we'll get you to a safer place." He said trying to coax the little prince. "NO! I WANT MOMMY AND DAD-" A loud slap was heard as the sound ricocheted around the room. The prince instantly became silent from the impact, his left cheek was stained with red as he faced the other way. Drops of blood came rolling down on his cheek, silence was ensued.

"Ahh, now look at what you've made me done. Now my poor ring is stained with filthy blood." The purple guy complained as he wiped it off, using the tablecloth as a towel. Red engulfed my vision as burning rage filled my every being. In that exact moment, I released my fury, completely destroying the whole arena.

After I have saved the royals, they immediately called in the healers to treat me and restore my HP. After I have given my thanks to them, I was about to take my leave to search for my nowhere-to-be-seen father when they stopped me and invited me to the castle. So here I am now, gaping at the interior design of the castle. We are currently in the huge Throne room, the walls were designed with velvet and gold curtains as it adorned the stained glass windows. Thick pillars rimmed with silver were placed at either side of the room, supporting the extravagant ceiling that was painted by famous artists and a big crystallized chandelier that was hanging elegantly.

I almost became blind by the sight of bright colors as it pierced my eyes. 'Now I've been to large and expensive museums but this, this is just too much.' I thought as me, a person who has seen wooden walls and roof and tatami mats as her home all her life, squinted my eyes. Then suddenly, a soft but firm voice echoed in the room.

"Thank you, young woman, for saving us and my son." I smiled and bowed to the Queen, the young prince clutching the torn dress of his mother with his tiny hands, the wound on his forehead gone as I've already healed it. "This lowly apprentice is not worthy of your thanks, I just merely did something I was supposed to do." The King laughed heartily at my response to the Queen. "Young lady, you are too modest. Please let us express our gratitude by granting at least one of your requests."

I pondered for a moment and answered, "Since it was said in the rule that a participant was not allowed to interfere in an emergency situation or they would be disqualified. So, if I may request you to lift my disqualification?" "Of course! Since you have saved our lives, that's a given already! Please give us another request." The Queen urged me, looking at me expectantly.

Reluctant at her words, I sighed as I gave in when the young prince stared at me with his big and round eyes in a puppy-like manner. "T-then, I would like to request a search party for my father." The queen tilted her head in curiosity. "Who is your father, child?" She asked.

"Garrett Greycott, Your Majesty." As soon as I said that, gasps erupted in the room. I looked around, confused as to why the servants and the lords looked at me with disbelief. "Oh my." The queen exclaimed. "W-what? Is there something wrong with that?" I asked. The Queen shook her head in denial to my question. "Nothing is wrong, young lady. May I inquire for your name, Daughter of Greycott and the ?"

"Talia, Your Majesty. My name is Talia Greycott." I announced, proud of the name given to me by my adoptive father.  "Well then. Do you, by chance, want to be the new Commander of the Round Table?" The King asked, standing beside the Queen. "Yes, Your Majesty. It has been my goal ever since I was young to surpass my old man." I replied, laughing lightly. They both laughed and smiled at me."Do you pledge your loyalty to the Crown and to the people of Daphnir Kingdom?"

'Why did it suddenly come to that?' "Of course, I will lay down my life for the crown and for the people." I said, looking at them suspiciously as their smile widened.  "Then, by the royal decree I hereby declare, Talia Greycott as the new Commander of the Round Table!" The servants and the lords in the room cheered and hollered, some congratulated me and shouted my name like a fan girl would. I stood there like an ice statue, still processing what have just occurred in my brain.

'... Just what happened?'
