Chapter 7: Balcony

Ouch.
I fell off the bed.
It's so dark.
Searching my bedside table with my hands, I found my phone and pressed the power button.

"FUCK" was the only word I could comprehend for the burning in my eyes at this time in the morning.

The screen is so bloody bright.

'2:32am', the screen reads. That seems about right considering the darkness. I close my eyes and try to sleep.

Turns out, sleeping just isn't working for me right now. Might as well go sit on the balcony.

ADRIEN POV:

Ughh, it's so early. I wonder what the time is. "ARGH" the phone screen is literally burning my pupils, fuck.

'2:32am?! Are you kidding?!' I whisper yell, waiting for some kind of response. I threw my phone so it landed on my beanbag and lie in bed for a while. But, I just can't sleep.
"A quick patrol wouldn't hurt would it?~" I asked Plagg who was very frustrated from me waking him up with such words.

"You could've atleast game me a wheel of Camembert, kid" while he gave a very dramatic eye roll. "Look, 15 minutes. That's it."

NOBODIES POV:

As Mari sat on her balcony, gazing at the stars with Tikki resting in her lap, a little kitty was hopping around the roofs of Paris.

Chat see's a faint glow from his favourite bakery and hops towards it to see if there was any fuss going on.

"Ugh Marinette, not a big fan at the moment." Chat said from a 70m distance. But, curiosity was a part of Chat Noirs nature and he made his way to the balcony.

"Jesus! You scared me chaton! Try be less creepy next time" Mari jumped, waking Tikki.

Tikki flew under Mari's blanket which was now in a messy heap on the chair.

"How am I supposed to approach you at this hour without scaring you, it's basically impawsible" Chat said, raising his eyebrows. Marinette just gave an annoyed 'Hmmf' and looked away, realising he was actually right.

"I know this is an odd question to be asking you, but have you seen Ladybug lately? She's been MIA as her superhero form for a couple days and I'm starting to worry" Chat said, concern laced in his eyes.

"Oh don't worry about her Chat, she's just a big upset and isn't on patrol for a while. There have been no Akumas lately so she thought it was the right time to take a quick breather" Mari said with certainty.

"How can you be so sure?" Chat replied. "Ohh, uhm, well, you see, me and LB go way back, even in our cervillion form. She's just stressed lately" Mari said, trying her best to hide the truth.

"Oh okay." Chat have a simple reply and an awkward silence settled over the two, that was until Chat asked, "And might you be awake in this hour?", "I could ask the same for you kitty-" Mari stopped and looked at him in the eyes for the first time that night "I just couldn't sleep" she completed her sentence.

"Same here" was Chats reply.

"I better go, it's early and I need to sleep before school, see you around sometime" Chat gave a 2 finger salute and hopped away.

"Stupid cat" Mari breathed.
