mari's pov:
"who's there," I said sluggishly, wiping any remaining sleep from my eyes, "It's just me silly," Tikki said while nuzzling into my cheek "you have to get up, it's 8:30, and... IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY!"
oh crap.
I completely forgot.
I threw on some clothes and tied my hair in a loose bun, and sped downstairs to the bakery.
Why is it so quiet. It's usually noisy in the mornings. I slowed my pace and walked down the last couple of steps. The lights were off and the curtains were closed, so I could barely see. I walked over to the light switch and flipped it on...
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!", everyone shouted so loud, I bet the whole of Paris heard. I stared at the crowd of people, scanning faces. Alya, of course, she was going to be there. After all, we are best friends. Mama, Papa, Nino, Rose, Alix, Juleka, Luka, Kim, Nathaniel, Mylène, Max and... Adrien Agreste.
"Aww, you guys!" I ran towards all my friends and ran into a massive group hug, "You are all seriously the best group of friends anyone could ever ask for!", I said truthfully. I don't think my smile could get any bigger right now.
Alya bent down and grabbed me by the legs and lifted me up, "GUESS WHOS 16 TODAYYYY!", Alya cheered and everyone laughed. "Alya you're so embarrassing!" I whisper yelled at her, "Ohh right, lover boy is here," She whispered "he's sooo gonna love you after today!".
Wait what's today, I don't recall having anything planned, apart from a sleepover with Alya?
"Honey!" my mom Sabine yelled from behind the counter, "Yes Mama!" I yelled back, walking towards her. She leaned over the counter with a smirk on your face, "guess who's getting a makeoverrrr!" Alya said over my shoulder, "WE ARE!" my mom yelled and fist bumped the air.
Oh.
My.
GOD.
I don't think I've been this excited since Adrien danced with me that one time. "OMG, OMG, OMG ARE YOU GUYS FOR REAL! THAT'S SO EXCITING WHEN IS IT, I CANT BELIEVE YOURE FINALLY LETTING ME DO THI-", mom stopped me before I could continue rambling, "It's today, so go have a shower and throw on some casual clothes, because you're getting new ones today hehe!", she looked and sounded almost as excited as me!

SOOO, I kinda discontinued my last fanfic because it was rushed and the storyline didn't really go anywhere so I created a new one with the same ideas as it, but dragged it out longer and tweaked the plot.
