Chapter 8: Stupid Agreste, You've Done it Again!

~ Friday Afternoon ~

MARI POV:

Waking up this morning was a breeze, hopefully school would be too.

I walk in the school gates only to be crushed in a tight hug from the one and only Lila. "Hey babe! I love your hair! It suits you when it's out!" She yelled. "Thanks Lila" I giggled.

We walked to class and sat down. "Hey Lila.." I awaited her response, "Hmm yeah?" She looked at me, "I thought about what you said, I'm gonna come to the party, BUT I don't have anything to wear!" I whisper yelled the last part as Ms. Bustier walked in. "OMG yes babe! I'm taking you shopping! I'll pay for everything! Don't worry about it!" I nodded in agreement, because after all, I had no money which she was aware of and she was loaded!

~ After School at the Shops ~

"Woaaahhhh! This is so pretty! It'd look perfect on you Marinette!" Lila said. "Hmmm ok, I'll try it on! BRB!" I walked into the change rooms and got into the mini dress.

I opened the door slowly and awaited a response from Lila.

A good 5 seconds later she said, "OH. MY. GOD. YOU LOOK SO GOOD OMG CHLOE IS QUAKING!!!"

~ time skip to when they're leaving ~

"Thanks so much for tonight Lila! See you tomorrow at the party!"

I walked home since the shops were around the corner and raced upstairs. Mum and dad are still on holiday but I like the feeling of independence! I rummaged through my draws to find a pink leather diary.

Dear Diary,
Today was a blast! Me and Lila are basically besties now. We went shopping and she shouted me everything! It's at the point where I feel heaps more confident. Guys are starting to take interest in me!

Adrien Agreste who? Ohh right! The one who like hates me! Don't worry the feeling is mutual. I'm so over him, and the best part is, I'm gunna make him so jealous he'll be shook! And Alya and Nino? They haven't been at school since the incident. Honestly, I couldn't care less! They left me to get run over by the stampede of heartbreak. Oh well. They'll survive.

I gotta go patrol. Ugh.

I closed my diary and put it back in the drawer.

"Tikki! Spots on!" were the magical words that escaped my lips. I used to feel more powerful as ladybug but at the moment, Mari is doing pretty good!

"Hey LB, where have you been?" A black cat appeared behind me, looking cocky, as per usual.
"Oh, me? I've been busy, and upset."

"Why were you upset M'lady?"

"Oh kitty hahaha I'm not upset anymore! I used to like this guy who was dating Chloe, but he became a total dick. But apparently all the guys swoon over me at school, so that's a start!"

"Chloe? Wasn't he dating that Adrien dude?"

"Yeah, that son of a bitch broke my heart. Oh well. His loss I guess. Although he is gorgeous and funny, used to be caring and nice and-"

I looked over to Chat, he looked like his heart just like... Broke?

"Hey, why are you upset Kitty, I was talking about Agreste, not you?" I gave him a kiss on the cheek.

He blushed and gave a little smile, but he's definitely been happier.

"Is everything ok?" I said

"Oh. Uhm. Yeah. Uhh just family stuff, it's hard to keep up with your world famous, designer, fathers activities that he's set for you and date a total bitch for publicity and fuck up someone else's life because of it."

I blinked and next thing you know I'm hugging him and telling him it wasn't his fault.

(But bc theyre so FRICKING DENSE Adrien has no idea that LB is Mari and thinks it's some other school friend. On the other hand though, Mari STILL doesn't notice that it's FUCKING ADRIEN)

"Thanks LB, you're a great friend" he said and smiled.

"Well it's not the first time someone's called me that before" I mumbled

"What?"

"Oh hahah nothingg- anyway! Patrol's over, cya soon Kitty"

"Goodbye Bugaboo" Chat said, still sounding a tad upset.

ADRIEN POV:

"Fucking Agreste! You did it again! You fucked up your one chance with your true love!" I said, pacing my room.

"Kid! Don't sweat it, you don't even know the girl, so, so what!"

"So what?! SHES MY EVERYTHING, BUT I HAD TO BE IN A RELATIONSHIP WITH A BITCH TO KEEP MY DADS PERFECT REPUTATION BY DATING A PERFECT LITTLE BRAT AND NOT REALISING MY BUGABOO LOVES ME! Plus, I will find out who she is and as soon as I do, I'll go to her house as Chat and tell her I know and then I'll show her my identi-"

"Less chat! More cheese!" Plagg said.

"It's on the table, I'm going to bed, goodnight" I said, flopping on my bed and drifting off to sleep.
