FOUR

  CHAPTER FOUR
( I SHOULD'VE STAYED IN BED )

LIAM WALKS INTO THE CAFE WITH THEO, WHEN HE'S HIT WITH A FAMILIAR SCENT. He looks around when he sees her. Hayden.
  "Hayden?" He walks closer and drags Theo with him. 
  Hayden looks up and smiles at Liam. Her eyes travel down to Theo and Liam's threaded hands. Her smile widens. "You two finally got together."
  Theo and Liam sit down.
  Liam smiles and nods. "Yeah. We've been together for a few weeks."
  Hayden smiles softly. "I'm happy for you."
  Theo leans forward. "If you don't mind me asking, what are you doing here?"
  Hayden's smile drops. "I'm here to warn you and I don't have much time." She sighs. "Some witch or wizard or whatever, has me under their control. They want some girls power. Someone you know."
  Theo's eyes widen. "Alex."
  Hayden nods. "That's her name. They have a weapon to do it. I'm not sure exactly how, but they can. I think that they said that it needs to happen on a full moon."
  Liam and Theo exchange glances. "Thats only a couple days away."
  Theo eyes Hayden suspiciously. "How do we know you aren't under control now?"
  Hayden shrugs. "I guess you don't. But, they let me out to explore for an hour. They might be listening in." She stands. "The witch, he works for Monroe." She leaves quickly.
  Theo takes a deep breath. "We have to talk to Alex."
  They stand and walk out.

  Theo and Liam walk into the house to see Alex sitting on the couch with her brother. The two quickly stand upon noticing Theo and Liam walk in.
  Devon looks at the two, eyes lingering on Theo for a moment. "I was just talking to Alex about something." He scratches the back of his neck awkwardly. "I'm gonna go now." He walks out the door.
  Theo raises an eyebrow. "What's up with him?" he asks Alex.
  Alex shrugs and sits back down. "He found out something."
  Theo and Liam sit down. "Like what?"
  Alex clears her throat. "That is not my business to tell."
  Theo and Liam exchange glances before Liam speaks up. "We need to talk to you about something. I actually think the whole pack should be here for it."
Alex leans back in her seat. "Okay, text the pack. I'll wait."
Liam pulls out his phone to text the pack group chat. After a few minutes, the pack walks into the living room. Issac and Scott walk in last, looking annoyed, with their hair a mess.
Theo laughs at them as the two sit down. "What the hell were you two up to?"
Liam elbows him slightly. "Theo, leave them be."
"Fine."
Alex raises an eyebrow. "Alright. Since you two wanted to tell us something, why don't you start now."
Liam nods. "Oh, right. Well, when Theo and I went to the cafe, we saw Hayden."
"She was there to warn us," Theo continues. "She's under someone's control and she only had an hour to do so."
Realization crosses Corey's face. "That's why she hasn't texted me in a week."
Mason turns to his boyfriend confused. "Texted you?"
Corey nods. "Yeah. I text Hayden all the time. I was getting a little worried."
"With good reason," Gabe comments. He turns to Theo and Liam. "What'd she want to warn us about?"
"The person that's controlling her works for or with Monroe." Theo takes a breath. "They have a way to get Alex's power. It's happening the full moon."
Alex sighs. She closes her eyes and rubs the bridge of her nose. "I should've stayed in bed."
Stiles thinks for a moment. "Guess we gotta call off that date."
Alex looks at him confused. "What?"
"Derek and I have a date tonight. But, since this is going on, I guess we can't go."
Scott gives his best friend a sympathetic look. "No, you and Derek should be able to go on your date."
Stiles raises an eyebrow. "But won't you be planning on what to do?"
Alex thinks for a moment. "Not really. There's not much we know and not much we can do."
Stiles nods. "Okay. But, I am wondering one thing. Can you break the spell the Hayden is under?"
"Normally yes but," she leans forward, "they would've accommodated the spell so that I couldn't break it, and since the know about you, they would've done the same for you." She leans back. "Though," she raises a finger, "there is one person who they wouldn't account for."
Scott raises an eyebrow. "Who?"
"Cam." Alex notices the confused looks on the packs faces. "He's friends with the mermaids and I gave him a witchcraft book. He wants to learn. If he can perform the spell needed to break the hold over her, it'll help."
Scott nods slowly. "I'd like to talk to these people and warn them. Just me and Alex." He stands with Alex.
"Let's go then. Though," she points to his hair, "you might want to fix that rats nest."

Alex and Scott walked to the cafe, to a secluded area, seeing the mermaids and their friends.
Zac looks at the two. "Why'd you want to meet us?"
Alex and Scott sit down. "Scott wants to keep you guys in the loop."
Scott waves. "Hi. I'm Scott and I'm the Alpha of my pack."
"Do you stop the vampire from killing people?" Chris asks.
Scott nods. "I have a rule to not kill."
"Thats kinda a big thing with him." Alex points to Scott. "I don't particularly listen all the time, but I try not to kill."
Scott smiles at her. "And I appreciate the effort."
Mimmi raises an eyebrow. "You have something to tell us?"
"Yes," Scott answers. "We recently got information that the hunter Monroe has a way to get Alex's power. They are planning on taking it on the full moon. Someone we know is under a witches or warlocks control-"
"We were hoping that maybe Cam can help break the hold," Alex finishes.
Cam points to himself. "Me?" They nod. "Why me?"
"Because they would've accommodated the spell to stop me and Stiles from breaking it," Alex explains. "You would give us an advantage."
"I don't know how to do that," Cam sputters.
"I will teach you," Alex says calmly.
"What happened to you not being a teacher?" Cam questions.
"I'm not, but for now, I'm gonna have to be," Alex admits. She stands. "This is too important and life threatening. If they get ahold of my power, they can kill every supernatural creature in the world in an instant."
Scott looks between the two. "She's gonna train you today and tomorrow. Hopefully you'll be ready by the full moon."
Mimmi stands as Scott does. "Maybe we could stay in the cafe during the full moon."
Serena nods and looks to David. "Do you think you could close the Cafe early?"
Alex looks at David as he nods. "The spell will most likely take place when the moon is right above Mako."
Zac turns to her. "How come?"
"Mako's power is at it's hight then," she explains. "The witch could draw power from Mako. I know I would. It would make a spell a hell of a lot easier."
Scott nods as he looks between all of them. "Alright, we meet here at 7:30 in on Friday. You'll meet our entire pack. One that I'll be needed to speak to right now, so goodbye for now." Scott leaves.
Alex turns to Cam. "We need to teach you kid. I have everything we need at my house. Lets go." Alex leaves with Cam following quickly behind.
