ALEX SHOOTS UP, BREATHING HEAVILY. She turns to Devon and Scott. "What the hell happened?"
Devon sits next to her. "You're alive. That's what happened." He scoffs in disbelief.
Scott looks at Alex with wide eyes. "How do you feel?"
She examines at her hands. "I feel," she clenches and unclenches her hands, "different."
Scott raises an eyebrow. "Different how?"
"Like," she puts her hands down, "I'm more me than ever."
"What the hell does that mean?" Devon asks.
She sighs. "It's like, I feel more real. More human. Still immortal, but more human."
Devon furrows his brows. "Did you know this would happen?"
Alex shakes her head. "No." She looks around. "How long was I dead?"
Devon gulps. "Four hours."
Alex nods slowly. "And what time is it."
Scott looks at the clock. "Right after three am."
Realization crosses her face. "The witching hour. That's why I woke up now and not earlier or later."
"Should we tell the others?" Scott questions.
Alex shakes her head and stands. "No. Let them sleep." She yawns. "Actually sleep sounds like a good idea. I'm gonna change and go to sleep."
She walks upstairs leaving Devon confused.
"Whats wrong?" Scott asks.
Devon turns to him, baffled. "She's never needed sleep before."
"What?"
Devon turns his body fully to Scott. "It's a thing for people without souls. You don't sleep. She doesn't have a soul."
Scott looks at the stairs, thinking. "What if she does?"

Devon is jolted awake by a scream. He runs into Alex's room, seeing her awake panting. He slowly approaches her and sits down. "What happened?"
She gulps. "I had- I had a dream." She shakes her head. "No. Not a dream. A nightmare. I," she pauses, trying to collect her thoughts, "I was- It was- I saw mom. And I saw snippets of the torture. Memories. I-" she chokes out a sob- "it was awful."
Devon hugs her, not knowing what else to do. "It's okay." He hugs her as she cries quietly.

The pack come downstairs. Theo is the first one to notice somethings wrong.
"Where is Alex's body?" He asks.
Scott sighs. "That what I wanted to talk to you about."
Devon comes down with Alex.
Theo's eyes widen. "You're alive!"
Alex nods. "Yes. And apparently, I have a soul now." She sits down.
Stiles squints. "Say what now?"
"I have a soul. I have no idea how. And," she exhales, "I know it is my own."
Theo raises an eyebrow. "And you knew you were gonna die and didn't tell us. 'It's okay?' It's okay?" He shoots out of his seat. "Are you out of your fucking mind?"
Liam grabs Theo's wrist. "Theo."
"No." He shrugs Liam off. "That was the dumbest shit you've ever pulled!"
She stands. "I'm sorry, Theo." She sighs. "I didn't think anything of it because I wanted peace. I wanted to die." She pinches the bridge of her nose. "And know that I have a soul, I have PTSD, anxiety, and depression. So." She blows out a puff of air.
The tension in the air is thick.
Alex breaks it. "And I feel guilty for leaving. Something I've never felt before."
"Wait," Liam starts, "if you're feeling emotions, truly, doesn't that mean it's gonna be that much harder to control your powers?"
"Aw crap," she sighs. "I didn't even think about that." She sits back down.
Scott rubs his temples. "Let's got to the cafe, check on the mermaids and I don't know after that."
  Everyone agrees.

+++

The pack walk to the cafe and approach the mermaids and their friends.
  Zac's eyes widen. "Your alive?"
  Alex nods. "I'm alive."
  The pack sit.
  "How?" Mimmi asks.
Alex shrugs. "I literally have no idea." Alex turns to Devon. "What'd you do with the spear?"
"I threw it into the ocean," he answers.
  Alex nods. "Good."
Ondina raises an eyebrow. "Why is that good?"
Alex thinks for a moment. "That spear can be very powerful in the right hands. That's why they were able to 'kill me.' It's why we would've never won." She adjusts in her seat. "If you don't know how to use it, it's just a spear. If you know how to use it, it's one of the most dangerous weapons in the world. In the multi verse even."
They're eyes widen as they process that information.
"Wait," Cam starts, "What about unlocking your power?"
"I completely forgot about that," Alex admits.
"What if-" Theo furrows his brows, thinking, "-remember when I said maybe the way to unlock your powers is to gain a soul. You have a soul," he gestures to her, "maybe you have new powers."
"Doubtful," she argues. "But we can try."
The pack gets up and says there goodbye to the others.

  "Focus Alex," Theo says.
  "I am focusing," she growls.
She stares at the water in the cup, attempting to freeze it.
Hayden walks in. "Stop bothering her Theo. She'll do it when she can."
Theo sighs and walks up to Hayden. "She wants me to push her."
Hayden looks to Alex then back to Theo. "She knows that can wait, right? She just came back from the grave."
Alex turns to them, aggravated. "Will you two shut up!"
She turn back the coffee table to find that is frozen completely. She lifts her hand off of it. She chuckles guilty. "Oops."
Theo walks up to her. "I understand it gonna be hard. But, you have to get your emotions under control. If you don't you could kill someone."
She exhales slowly. "Okay. Calm down."
  The pack walk in.
She stands. "I think I'm gonna take a nap." As she starts to walk away, she gasps and grabs her stomach in pain.
Hayden holds her up. "What's wrong?" She guides Alex to the couch.
  Alex sits. "I don't know."
A man appears in the living room, scaring everyone but Alex.
  "Hey Hades," Alex greets.
Hades nods to her. "You have unlocked your full potential, I see."
"Wonderful." She gasps again. "It hurts like a bitch."
"Alex," he sits, "you must understand something. The gods did not make you knowingly."
  "What?"
He adjusts in his seat. "You mother took some of our blood. From all of us. She used that to create you. With that comes responsibilities-"
Alex cuts him off. "Get to the fucking point."
"What you are feeling is most likely an imbalance in the multi verse," he explains. "That is you job. Your responsibility. To maintain balance everywhere. With you full power you can. And you can still sort of be with your friends. Albeit, this threat need to be destroyed head on. You have to be there."
Alex exhales. "Okay. When does the pain stop?"
  "In a minute."
"And where is this imbalance located?" She asks.
"The marvel universe? I believe that what you would call it. It's like the comic books, with only a few differences," he explains.
Stiles face lights up. "Oh my god. No way! We get to save the marvel universe."
Alex scoffs. "No. None of you are coming. And that's final. It is too dangerous. Maybe when I come back we can go."
  Stiles smiles. "Okay."
Alex turns to Hades, all pain suddenly gone. "Thank you for your help."
Hades nods to her. "Always a pleasure." He stands. "No if you'll excuse me. I have to take my wife out to dinner."
Alex laughs. "Hurry up before she kicks your ass for being late."
  He disappears.
Alex turns to the pack. "I guess I'll go get ready. Gonna save the avengers."

A/N— This book is finished and I'm gonna be writing a third one.
The only reason I split the books up is because of my first attempt to write a story. It was a mess.
Next book involves the pack meet the avengers, possibly.
In that book, Civil war would've lasted around a month and Infinity War would've/would be happening 3 months after that.
That's all for now.
