THEO CRADLES ALEXS LIFELESS BODY. The pack stands around frozen in place, of fear and grief. Their gaze switches to Monroe and the warlock, who each have a half of Alex's stone. Their eyes glow white as the absorb the power. There veins slowly glow blue.
"Finally," Monroe says in a distorted voice. She looks up at the pack and breathes in deeply. "It's about time you died, Scott." She puts her arm up to kill Scott, but stops. She gasps and grabs her wrist in pain. The warlock steadies himself on the counter. Monroe's body trembles. She screams and falls to the ground as her body turns to dust, the same happening to the warlock.
  Scott's eyes widen. "They're dead."
Devon doesn't take his glass eyes off of his fallen sister. "Yes." His voice doesn't falter.
Stiles looks at him in disgust. "Your sister just died, and you don't have a reaction." His voice shakes.
Devon turns to the pack, so they could see his glasses eyes. He takes a deep breath. "She said to not weep over her. So I will not."
Stiles scoffs. "What the hell does that mean?"
Realization crosses Scott's face. "She knew."
  Stiles turns to him. "What?"
Scott looks Stiles in the eye. "She knew she was going to die."
Devon looks back to Theo. He walks close. "You have to let her go." His voice is soft. Comforting. Something Theo never thought Devon was capable of being.
Theo shakes his head while rocking back and forth. "No, no. I can't," he murmurs.
"Come on." Devon wraps his arms around Theo, pulling him away from Alex's body.
"No!" Theo struggles. His body is tired. It does nothing.
"You need to calm down," Devon says.
"I can't!" As Devon lets go, Theo turns to face him, anger evident. "You knew she would die!" He pushes him back. "You knew and you did nothing!" He clenches his fist. "Why didn't you save her?! She was my only friend in so long!" He unclenches his fist, his voice becomes small and his shoulders slump. He softly crosses his arms over his chest. "Why didn't you save her?"
Devon sighs, his tears threatening to fall. "Because I couldn't." His voice cracks. "Because no matter what I did, I wouldn't be able to save her."
Theo lowers his arms. "What did she say to you?"
Devon sniffles. "She said to tell no one. She said do not cry after because she was not worth the tears. She said to take care of you. She said perform θάνατο στο νερό. In the morning. So, I'll bring her body in my car." He clears his throat. "I have been around death far too much for this to hurt so much."
Theo furrows a his brows. "But she was your sister." He scoffs. "She practically raised you."
Devon nods sorrowfully. "I know." He comes closer and hugs Theo. "I know."

Devon carefully puts Alex's body in the back seat of his car. He covers her with a blanket, not being able to see her corpse. He gets in the drivers seat shakily. He takes a deep breath. He can't seem to get the lump out of his throat. He feels like he needs to scream. So, he does.
He screams until his voice is horse. And he stops crying only when his tears are gone. Then, in deafening silence, he drives.
After the drive he carries her covered body into the house, his face void of emotion. The pack is silent as he places her body on the couch.
He turns to Liam. "Where's Theo?"
Liam is surprised being addressed directly. "Sleeping."
Devon nods. "Good. You all should get some rest as well. It's been a long night and we need to be ready for tomorrow." He sits on the couch opposite of Alex's body while everyone but Scott leaves to go to sleep.
Scott sits next to him. "You know, staring at her body won't make you feel better."
Devon clenches his fists. "I don't care."
Scott sighs. "How are you doing?"
"I'm fine."
"You don't have to be okay."
"I'm fine," he growls.
"Her last words were the wisest thing." Devon unclenches his hands slowly. "'Everyone dies alone. But if you meant something to someone. If you helped someone. Or loved someone. If even a single person remembers you. Then maybe you never really die at all.' And I think that means so much. So you grieve. But you will remember her and maybe, that means she never died."
Devon feels a lump in his throat. He turns to Scott. "But she is dead. And how am I supposed to deal with that?"
"You remember her. You remember everything she did. Good and bad. You remember everything. And then," he pauses, "you let her go."
Devon shakes his head, biting his trembling lip. "I can't do that. How come these things happen to me? I'm alone."
Scott thinks for a moment. "I guess, the moral of the story is that no matter how much we try, no matter how much we want it..... some stories don't have a happy ending." Devon turns back to Alex's body and Scott follows his gaze. "She didn't have a happy beginning, middle, or end. But, I think that's just happens."
"Yeah." His voice is horse. "I guess it does."
"What's the ceremony that you are planning on doing?"
"We go on a boat and drop her in the ocean."
Scott's nods slowly. "Okay." He stands and places a hand on Devon's shoulder. "I'm gonna get some sleep. You should too. You need it."
Devon nods slowly. "Yeah. Okay." He stands.
They hear a gasp and the two turn to see Alex sitting upright breathing heavily.
  "Oh my god."
  "Holy shit."

A/N— This was a chapter mostly, digging into the people closest to Alex. Her brother and Theo.
My favorite thing about characters is that they are like geodes. To see what they are made of, you must break them.
