Waking, Hermione stretched not knowing she was on a couch and not her bed, rolled to her other side only to fall on her stomach. "Ooof" she groaned, " Fucking hell. Where the fuck am I." The normal composed witch cussed as she sat straight up in the unfamiliar room. Looking around the room she remembered she was in her professors room, but not knowing how she got moved to the couch she was just about to call out when she heard twin laughs coming from her left. Blushing she stood up getting tangled the blanket, "Shit!" She exclaimed when the floor came into contact with her bum earning her full on belly laughs from the two men that haunt her dreams.
"Oh for the love of merlin would those two just shut up already. It's bad enough to be in their presence but having to listen to them would make any girls panties drop." she mumbled quietly but not quiet enough because the two professors looked at each other with triumphant faces.
Walking gracefully over to the girl Severus helped her up while Lucius untangled her from the blanket. "You really should be careful darling, you could hurt your pretty little head the next time you decide to take fall." Lucius told her with a straight face and calm voice while she looked at him trying decipher if that was a compliment or if he was poking fun at her.
"Yes, well thank you Mr. Malfoy for your help. Yours as well Professor Snape." Gathering her book bag she walked towards the wall she walked through last night. "Good morning to you both and I hope you each have a pleasant day." And with that the men watched her leave with smiles on their faces.
"You know Severus, this it the longest you have smiled in years. And I must say I quite like it." Leaning over to kiss the dark haired wizard Lucius said before their lips met. "Take me to bed darling. We still have a full morning before we have to be surrounded by dunderheads." He said as he stood holding his hand out.
"With pleasure." Purred Snape as he took his lovers hand and walked back to their room.
Meanwhile Hermione was trying to figure out how to get out of the dungeons without running into any snakes. But luck would not be on her side as she runs straight into none other than the Slytherin prince himself, Draco Malfoy. "Good morning Malfoy" Hermione greeted as she tried to step to the right away from him.
"Hermione." He said smiling as he blocked her way, " why are you coming from fathers and uncle severus' chambers? Has the little lioness realized she has feelings for them and let them know?" He joked causing her face to turn a bright red that could easily match the Weasley's hair. Gaping like a fish at him and wondering how he knew she liked them she tried to declare what he said as false but nothing came out. Smirking at his classmate he leaned in and whispered, " I know for a fact they like you Mia. Just go with it and you might like the outcome."
Staring at the young Malfoy she finally came to her senses when she processed what he had just told her. " you want me to declare my love for the two men in those chambers over there?" She asked pointing. " knowing one of them is your father and the other is your godfather and they're both obviously together so why would they even want me?" She ended in a small broken voice causing Draco to frown.
Gathering the Gryffindor in his arms as she broke down, Draco slid down the wall holding her as she asked over and over why they would want a silly little know-it-all girl. "They don't see you like that Mia. They actually love you and they especially love your know-it-all attitude, I've heard them say it before." He assured her while rubbing her back. " Uncle Sev likes to talk to father about how you wrinkle your nose when you know the answer but try not to shout it. And how you tend to defend them to your idiotic friends, who have no idea where you were last night and roped me into looking for you. You owe me for hiding that bloody map from Potter and Weasley. If they ever found out you were in the dungeons all night I think that would've done them in." Chuckling he voiced how they boys could survive a Dark Lord but not their best friend getting any from the Slytherin head of house and his partner.
Laughing at him Hermione had sat up so her head was on his shoulder and his arm around hers. "Draco. I'm scared, what if they only want me for one thing and then toss me aside like I'm nothing and pretend I'm not there anymore." She voiced her concern knowing that it could happen. Feeling him tighten his hold on her he reassured her that that could never happen and they they both love her.
They hadn't noticed how long they had sat on the floor until they heard the lunch bell ring and students shuffling their feet around the corner they were at. Gathering up her gryffindor courage she looked at Draco and said -" I think I'm going to tell those two men I love them and hopefully they love me too." Smiling at her fake bravery he simply said "atta girl" and stood before helping her up. "You know you could just walk up and kiss them then walk away and see what they do." He offered as they walked towards the great hall.
Walking side by side they walked to lunch joking about how she would tell the two snakes and if he should be there to take pictures of their shocked faces. Reaching the hall they hadn't noticed the people staring at them as they smiled at each other and hugged before parting to go to their respected tables.
"Blimey Hermione. If you wanted to make an entrance you sure did a good job of that." Ron said around a mouthful of food. Rolling her eyes at him she sat and gathered food to place on her plate. " Um Hermione, where were you last night. We looked for hours but we couldn't find you." Harry asked as he stared at her.
Swallowing her food she simply lied, " I was reading in a friend's room and forgot about curfew until too late so I just stayed the night there so as to not get in trouble the first day back." Shrugging Harry bought it and took another bite of his shepherds pie. Smiling at her own food she remembered last night and how the men were kind and thoughtful for covering her with a blanket and let her sleep on the couch.
Feeling eyes on her she glanced up to the head table and saw them staring at her with barley there smiles. Smiling back softly she looked at the rest of the teachers only to catch Professor Dumbledore's twinkling eyes. Staring at him curiously he simply looked at her then the two professors at the end of the table and back at her. The blood drained from her face as she saw the twinkling double and let her shields down long enough to scream 'NOTHING HAPPENED' which caused him to wince before smiling again.
'I believe you my dear. However that does not mean that nothing will happen, and I for one cannot wait till it does. You will be good for them and they you.' His voice rang in her head as she stared in his eyes. Gasping out loud she drew the attention of her best friends, "everything alright 'mione?" Harry asked concerned.
Smiling at them she said everything was okay and that she was just tired. Nodding at her reasoning they went back to eating, or in Ron's case, stuffing his face. Looking back at the headmaster she rolled her eyes and smiled at him causing him to chuckle silently at her.
Looking around she couldn't help but think this is going to be an eventful year unlike the others. At least this year there aren't any madmen trying to kill them like the previous years.
