Harry Potter has always been observant ever since the war. So that's how he knew something was up with his best friend, Hermione Granger. Deciding one night to follow her he heard her whisper about loving two men at once and how they were involved and professors. That's how he found out his best friend was about to get into something very deep and instead of having a normal year he knew he was going to do whatever it took to get her her happiness. Even if it meant burying the hatchet between him and the potions master and defense against the dark arts professor.
Walking down the corridors to Snape's and Malfoy's room Harry couldn't help but think about how bad of an idea this was. How bad it would be if they didn't return Hermione's feelings. But he gathered all his courage and forced himself to knock on the portrait of a young Salazar Slytherin that guarded their rooms.
Opening the entrance Lucius Malfoy stared with curiosity at the boy wonder that ventured this far down in the dungeons. "May I help you Mr. Potter?" His voice cold as he questioned Harry.
Nodding Harry looked past him and saw Snape glare at him. " I need to speak with you both about a certain female student." Seeing their eyes widen slightly as he looked pointedly at the two letting them know he knows. Inclining his head, Professor Malfoy let him in walking him to the sitting area.
Sitting Snape gestured for Harry to take a seat which he did but not before grabbing a biscuit off the table. "Hope these aren't poisoned." He joked as he took a bite causing the potions Professor to snort.
"It's not poisoned boy. But for your sake I might make a few if you don't inform us what exactly it is you're here for." He bit out as his patience was waning.
Setting the biscuit down Harry leaned forward and looked at the two professors. " I want to know what your intentions are with Hermione. I want to know that you both will do everything you can to make her happy." Running his fingers through his hair and sighing he added, " I'm also here to put our differences aside and act like civil adults around each other." Emerald green eyes met coal black and cobalt blue-silver before extending his arm out. " Truce on whatever hatred we may hold for each other?"
The two men stared at the teen before looking at each other having a silent conversation. Looking back at the teen after a moment they each reached out to shake his hand. " Pray tell Mr. Potter how you got the knowledge that we felt something for your friend? We believed we were rather inconspicuous about the whole thing." Mr. Malfoy asked the chosen one.
Smiling at them he shook his head " I didn't know you liked her. All I knew was that she liked you and I had to come check that you wouldn't humiliate her in front of everyone should she tell you her feelings."
Realization dawned on the men's faces as they realized that the Gryffindor prince had just gotten them to confess their feelings not knowing if they did like his friend or not. " That was a very bold move Potter. Very bold. I am shocked at how Slytherin you have become." Snape drawled as he gazed at the young man.
Beaming at the compliment Harry simply said that he's always been meant for Slytherin but he chose Gryffindor. " Why not be the best Slytherin out there by being a snake in a lions skin?" He asked which got him a snort and a small chuckle from the men.
After that first meeting Harry met with them every other Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday night to talk about Hermione and to bury the hatchet. But unknown to the three of them a certain bushy brown eyed girl noticed the change in them.
The next month found Hermione in the girls bathroom alone crying while waiting for Draco. She had sent her patronus to him fifteen minutes ago and he was still not there. Hearing the door open and close she stood from the floor and walked out of the stall only to be met with Pansy Parkinson. Gasping Hermione tried to retreat but the Slytherin grabbed her arm forcing her out and pushed her gently towards the sink. "What do you want Parkinson?" Hermione questioned as she was being man, well woman, handled by the girl.
"I'm here because Draco was summoned to his fathers room to talk about something and he told me to help you." She replied as she rolled her eyes. "Up" she said pointed at the sink. Watching the girl suspiciously Hermione hopped up on the sink and watched as she gathered her bag and grabbed a small makeup pouch.
" You need to woman up and get your men before everyone figures out how much you love them. And don't worry about Potter, he's not the one they want." Gaping like a fish at how the girl knew she stared as Pansy spread all her makeup out over the counter and proceeded to apply it on the Gryffindor princess.
"Quit imitating a guppy Granger. It's not flattering and it will get you know where with them." Rolling her eyes again at the girl Pansy finished up applying all day stick lipstick and eyeliner. "Done" she said smiling at her handiwork. "Now all you need to do is meet Draco by the portrait of Salazar Slytherin and his snake and you will get your men." Smiling gratefully at the Slytherin after she looked at herself in the mirror, Hermione couldn't help but hug her. " Thank you so much for this Parkinson. You are amazing. Thank you." She whispered in her ear.
Rolling her eyes affectionately at the woman Pansy patted her back and sent her on her way. " That girl is going to cause so much trouble this year." She mumbled shaking her head as she watched hermione make her way out of the lavatory. Shrugging she gathered her things and walked to her common room to warn the other Slytherins of the Gryffindor that would soon be an adopted Slytherin.
Meanwhile while Pansy was fixing Hermione, Draco was talking with his father and godfather about their feelings for the Gryffindor. " Father, I know." He said for the millionth time in an hour. His father has been trying to get him to understand that they wanted hermione and this wasn't just a fling. Rolling his eyes as his father rambled on again he looked over at Severus and Harry who had small smirks on their faces. Glaring at them he finally stood up and shouted " For Merlin's sake father! Shut the fuck up. I know! I know about how you and uncle Sev love Hermione Granger and how you want her for longer than just a casual fuck. Merlin, I've been trying to get the girl to admit her feelings for you but you keep distancing yourselves from her and gravitate towards Harry. If you want her then just tell her. If not then don't lead her on. She already had a breakdown the first time she was here and then again today in the lav. And fucking Pansy is there to cheer her up so if you want her then quit trying to 'make me understand' anything when I already know and I approve." Falling I gracefully on the couch, he slouched and caught his breath. " Pushing her away and spending more time with Potter has made her believe you don't even like women and want to pursue him while she wants you to pursue her. She's confused by the mixed signals you are sending her." He added quietly.
Staring at the blond boy in shock they thought about all the time they've spent teasing her in class and dinner and sometimes the hallways. But not once have they invited her back to their rooms, instead Potter was the only one besides Draco and Pansy to come in here and he spent more time with them than Draco.
Feeling sick to himself Lucius stood and made his way to the bedroom followed by Severus calling his name as he walked in after him. " We're screwing this up already Sev. She's already uncertain of our intentions. We need to make this right and tell her." The blond stated as the raven haired man gathered him in his arms. " We will love, we will." Snape promised.
So I know Snape is out of character as is Lucius but this is them behind doors so they're not having to put up a façade in front of others. Also Pansy and Hermione became Tentative friends after the war and Hermione turns to her more than Ginny.
