Due to Kai's idea of the strongest going, Aichi felt that he wasn't strong enough to battle and Kamui had a argument with him. Because of that, Kamui quit the team, leaving us. But, we'll win the elimination matches, for Kamui."
"I'll fight too...for Aichi's sake."
"It's time..for-"
"Let's take a moment to explain how the elimination matches work!" Suiko said, cutting off the MC.
"For the Vanguard..."
"National Championship!"
"Ultra Rare seems to be completely different than at CardshopPSY. Even Kourin as well."
"We finally made it." Shin said.
"Yeah..."
"Aichi?" I called quietly.
Ever since Kamui left, Aichi been having a stern expression on his face, and it wasn't good to see him like this.
"I miss seeing the nervous, cute Aichi."
Ignoring Morikawa's yelling of Kourin, I was more focused on who would be our opponents.
"In preparation for next week's finals, we're gonna be forced to eliminate half of our competitors. To ensure this process is fair, we'll be dividing the 32 participating teams into 8 blocks.
"Each block will be made up of four teams. All teams in a given block will play each other round-robin style. With the top two teams moving on to compete in the finals next week." Kourin explained.
"But how exactly do we decide which teams are moving on?" Rekka asked.
"Let's imagine the outcome looked like this."
The image on the monitor changed to a sort of O and X board.
"Looking here, we can clearly see Team A has done the best with three wins and zero losses. Team B has two wins and one lost. In this case it's easy to see which teams are moving on to the finals."
"But Suiko, couldn't two teams wind up with the same record?"
"If that happens our judges will look at the individual game stats to reach their decision."
"Sounds like we put a lot of thought into it."
After listening to the rest of the three members' explanation, the monitor showed us who were in each block, but I couldn't focus while seeing Aichi's face.
