Today's the day my brother possibly comes home. This morning Kentrell came and got me. My mom didn't wanna come because she said she's tired of us.

I guess this time was her last straw. Me and my brother both been getting locked up since we was like 12. But can you blame us? My mom ain't never have shit when I was growing up so we got what we wanted by taking that shit. Weather that meant taking it from another kid in the neighborhood after beating them up or stealing it out the store.

We ain't have no dad either so we walked into this gang life on our own. Right now we in too deep so it ain't no turning back.

We all were sitting in the waiting room waiting for them to announce that my brother's case was up. His girlfriend Arianna fine as hell. She can't be from the Rouge, I ain't neva seen her.

"Where you from?"

"Um, Cali" she looked up from her phone. "LA"

"LA? So how you end up in the BR?"

"That's another story for another time" she mumbled, giving me a shy smile. She looked around with her leg shaking. I noticed she was getting nervous as all these other cases were being called except Joe's so I tried to call her with some jokes to take her mind off it.

"All jokes aside, how he even get you?"

Kendell tapped me, "That's what I said"

"I don't know" she laughed. "Y'all gone leave my baby alone"

When a staff member from the courthouse came to us telling us his case was up next I put my arm around Arianna. I know she isn't feeling too easy about this. She's been shooken up all morning. She didn't even bother to eat earlier.

Babyjoe looked back at us and smiled seeing all of us here for him.

The DA read the claims out loud and the judge read over everythijng for herself.

"Boy I ain't see you in here in a while. Since you was 15" the judge joked. "Grew up so nicely I just wished your behavior matched your looks"

I noticed Arianna and Teelee turn to each other "Is she flirting with me nigga?"

"I'm so over you" Teelee tapped her leg, quietly laughing.

"Without enough evidence ..Jury finds him not guilty" the judge slammed his gavel against the wood. A wave of relief washed over all of our faces.

We were escorted to another part of the facility to wait for him as they cleared him to leave.

Arianna jumped on him as soon as he came through the doors like they were in a movie.

When she was done being dramatic we all dapped him up.

"We gone pour one fa ma nigga tonight" Ben said, making everyone clap it up.

I had my fingers crossed that Kentrell was gone say I can come.

"Then who's watching the kids?" Arianna asked, still hugged up on Babyjoe.

Kentrell nodded towards me. "I never agreed to this" I shook my head No. "How I'm gone watch all those kids by myself?"

Arianna may be used to watching 4 kids at once but not me. 'I can barely watch my damn self' as my momma would say about me and Kentrell.

"Tell Zoey do it with you" Teelee suggested.

I rolled my eyes "Whatever yo" how she just gone volunteer my girl like that?
