monday
october 9thKling. The bells above the entrance door to the little record shop Dan worked in monday through friday rang. He looked up at saw a couple, a girl with brown hair and a white top walked in with a guy with jet-black hair and a plaid shirt. Their arms were intertwined and the girl was slightly pressed up against the guy. Dan looked down quickly, I wish I had that. He thought. They look so happy and content.
"Hey do you have any Muse records?" Dan shot out of his dreams and focused on the couple now standing infront of him.
"Uh.. what?"
"Muse? Do you sell any?" Said the guy. Dan quickly noticed his eyes, they were striking. And his skin was very pale. Dan shook the feeling he had in his gut and gathered himself.
"oh yeah. Uh. Um down the second aisle from the door are all the classics"
"thanks" he said mildly awkward while slowly turnig around and walking away."Found something?"
"oh yes he did" said the girl she was pretty. "He also realised you sell pins and went semi-insane."
"Shut up Kat, you love pins as well"
"true"
"ah The Resistance that's a classic" Dan mumbled and laughted softly before taking the items on the counter and scanning them into the machine.
"well I hope your music and pins will bring you joy then." he said handing them the bag.
"thank you" with that they left."Dan!" Adrian yelled from the desk in the lounge. "is dinner ready yet I'm starving"
"Yeah yeah, I'm working on it just like you should be working on your algebra" He heard his brother huff as the stirred the pasta. He was making pesto pasta for them to dine on while watching their series. He glanced at the clock on the wall, 7.55 pm. He set the sofa table with their bowls of food, water, glasses and utensils.
"Dinner's ready" Adrian stood up and plopped down on Dans left as he put Shingeki no Kyojin on. They always watched either netflix or anime with their dinner and breakfast just to make sure they spent time with each other and not just lived their separate lives apart.
"How was school today?"
"eh, the normal. How was work?"
"nothing other the the normal as well"
with that they enjoyed their dinner and watched anime until it was time for Adrian to go to bed.
"Goodnight kiddo" Dan kissed the top of Adrians head as he passed causing him to scrunch his nose. "sleep tight alright"
"yeah yeah, night" Dan smiled and sighed after his brother, he leaned agaist the counter top and put his head in his hands. The past months had been difficult. With his brother having to stay with him he had had no other choice then to drop out of univeristy, get a job and a new appartment in town. After a month Dan realised that the check from the record store wasn't gonna cut it and got a job as a buzz boy in a resturant down the road. The next day*
tuesday
october 10th"Wake up buddy it's time for school"
"ugh." Adrian sighed and scrated his head. "Will mornings ever become less painful Dan?"
"nope. Get up, breakfasts ready"
Cereal, milk, tea, two bowls and spoons were placed on the table infront of them.
"Please Adrian, no phones at the table" Dan said barely looking up from his bowl. Adrian put his phone down and picked his cup up instead.
"I have to go in for a night shift at the resturant tonight." Dan said and itching his forhead tiredly with two fingers. "Sophia asked me to cover for her"
"mm 'kay." Adrian could hear how tired his brother was. "I can stay at Wills tonight you know. So that you don't have to worry about food and such"
"I'll always worry Ad, no matter where you are" Dan looked his brother in the eyes. He smiled and nodded. "But yes, you should you two haven't seen each other outside of school in ages. Just don't forget to do your classwork"
"yeah obviously not. I'll text you when I get there so you know I got there safe"
Adrian went to school and Dan went to his first job at the record shop.
