There was no noise hovering in the air, no daylight shining through, not even a window to see the world outside. The place was covered in dark, dull colours that made the room saddened. The door was a giant metal sheet with an opening as big as a letter box which only opens on certain occasions. Nothing would ever make a place seem like home but it was, it was her home. The young girl, dressed in a grey dress that nearly covered her from head to toe, was sitting on the cold floor in front of metal bed frame, feeling the chill from the frame creep up her spine. Sitting, hugging her knees up to her porcelain face, with her raven like hair falling gracefully down on her legs, she was shaking uncontrollably as it was freezing in the room so sleep would never come. The girl lifted her head showing her silver eyes which were flowing like a river, she looked around the room seeing the toilet over in the corner, with a wall hiding it from the camera's red light meaning the people behind it were watching. She knew they were watching her even at this time in the evening, eyes following her every time she moved a muscle and ears listening if she ever said anything but she never did, she would never give them that sort of satisfaction. If anything she would bore them senseless by doing nothing but still crying would provide something to look at, to laugh at, so she wiped her tears away.
Then there was a small bang and clash, then a thud coming from the direction of the door. The girl quickly turned her head and saw that on the floor was a envelope with no name or address on it. She was cautious at first but she soon picked it up. The girl slowly opened the envelope which had a small note safely stashed inside, she pulled the note out of its security, it read: Stay by the door, then jump.
"Jump?" she thought, why would she need to jump? The note also said to stay by the door, why? The girl didn't understand the instructions were so vague; there was no explanation behind any of it. She then looked up to the camera, there was no red light anymore, it had been turned off, and no one was watching her anymore. The girl took a deep breath, for the first time no one was watching her like an animal she felt good knowing their eyes weren't following her even for a small amount of time. She was still standing by the door like the note had told her to do but nothing had happened, growing impatient the girl sighed and walked back towards her bed. She knew nothing would change and maybe that note was just a tease, but that small change made her feel some hope.
There was a sudden uproar of air and debris flying through the air, the girl was knocked off of her feet and sent flying towards the metal door. Her body slammed against the door and the girl felt sharp, sudden pains in her back and head. Her head was spinning, turning in every direction making her feel sick all over, her eye sight, blurred and her ears ringing. She could just make out the huge hole now in the wall,as her sight became more focused she could see cables sparking from the walls edge. Bits of wall and rock covering the floor in-front of her. She slowly lifted herself up from the floor using the metal door as support. If it were not for the adrenaline she would be in pain right now. Now she understood why she had to stand next to the door, whoever sent the note had just blown a hole in the wall. The girls ears were still ringing but her eye sight had become more adjusted, she walked over to the huge gap in her room, then she felt it... a breeze. The first she had ever felt in forever, she felt it flow through her hair it felt unbelievably good. She then smelt the smoke and she saw it rising and filling her room.
The girl then remembered the second part of the note "Jump". Is this what they had meant? The girl looked down over the edge of the wall; she was at least twelve stories up if she jumped off this she would surely die. Then she saw it, a small net at the bottom of the building. However the next noise frightened her more, she heard banging coming from the metal door, they were coming, coming to get her.... then the banging stopped. She looked behind her, a man stood in the doorway he was holding a long metal rod, he was smiling at her.
"If you move..." he sneered as he flicked the switch on the metal rod, swirls of electricity formed around the rod. This made the girl shake in fear but she turned her back knowing what she has to do, she took a deep breath, she knew if she jumped too far out she would fall straight to her death but if she didn't go she would endure so much more pain. So the girl closed her eyes and jumped.
