6. New Start

I got back to my apartment at around 2AM, quickly pulling off my blazer and chucking it to one side before crashing on my bed. Immediately regretting my choice of clothing, I woke up the next morning with a bad leg ache from my skinny jeans. Pulling them off came as an immense relief, and so was climbing into my steaming hot shower.

The days were a blur of unpacking, Netflix and chores. Pretty soon it was the 31st of December and I was driving to the TNS cast party for the New Year, all dressed up in the black jumper Bri had bought me on Boxing Day and some black skinny jeans. My usual silver chain clung to my neck, the tag "M" felt cold against my skin. The party was going to be at Brittany and Victoria's place, so I already knew the way, having gone there for their Housewarming Party earlier.

Reversing my car into the parking lot, I climbed outside, pulling my keys out and unplugging my phone from its charger, stuffing both things into my pocket. On my way up to the apartment, I bumped into Isaac (Eldon) in the escalator, fist-bumping him and taking some of the food he was holding from him.

"How have you been, bro? Haven't seen you in ages," he smiled, causing me to reciprocate.

"Yeah, I'm good. Been so busy... you? I didn't see you at the CDC party," I narrowed my eyes at him with some concern. Isaac never missed parties.

"Oh, yeah, I was back at my brother's place for the Holidays. Only got back yesterday," he informed me, settling my worries.

"Ok," I nodded, reaching the front door of Britt and Vic's place. Lifting my free hand, I knocked the heavy wooden door, hearing the faint sound of voices growing louder and the sound of a metal latch being unfastened.

The door opened to Brittany (Riley). Her hair was curled, and hung loose around her shoulders. She had dark makeup to compliment her features, and a dark green skater dress, paired with a leather jacket for the cold.

"Hey," Isaac and I greeted her, each of us giving her a hug.

"Mylo, Isaac," she moved aside to let us in. "Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, whatever it is we're doing," She laughed.

"Happy Boxing Day," Isaac joked as we laughed equally.

Victoria (Michelle) and Trevor (James) heard the laughter and met us in the corridor.

"Hey, bro," Trev smiled as he held his arm out to each of us, pulling us in for the handshake.

"Vic," I smiled hugging her too, before wishing them both Happy Holidays and moving towards the kitchen to put down all the food.

Sitting on the couch were Bree (Kate), Jennie (Chloe), Alex Chaves (Piper) and Brennan (Daniel), and on the various chairs placed around the room were Isaiah (Henry), Shelby (Amy) and Jordan (Giselle). Briar, Erika (Sloane) and Taveeta (Thalia) sat on the rug near the TV, deep in conversation.

"Where are Giuseppe (Alfie) and Akiel (LaTroy)?" I questioned, looking around the room after hugging everyone.

"They're on their way," Britt informed, grabbing a chip.

Soon they arrived, and we began blasting music. 'Just Dance' played on YouTube as we got into formation.

Everyone got into partners. I was with Bri. Next to us were Britt and Trev, and on our other side were Isaiah and Shelby.

'Timber' began blasting as I kneeled on one knee like the bear on the screen and stretched out my hand. Briar held it as she circled me, before we jumped up and continued the relatively simple choreo. Soon all games were abandoned and we freestyled.
