Grey hung below my eyes while the ceiling stared back at me. The walls looked brighter when the curtains were drawn, too bad I kept them drawn tight. Fear coursed through my body every second my body wasn't going farther away. They were going to find me staying here. Let them. You deserve it. Shaking my head I knew I had to leave. Pushing myself off the bed I walked out the door and to the front desk, leaving my key on the "desk". Quickly walking to the car the plan formed in my head. Images moved from view as I drove away. I was going back, it had been a week since I left and They knew I was gone. Go farther away or go back.
Studying my face in the mirror across the room I hoped the changes would help. Like a haircut and blonde hair will help. They will find you. The lady behind smiled at me from counter while I paid her. Turning around I knew I had to go back. Cal needs me, I can't give up. Get her and leave.
Land passing my view, empty roads limited themselves for me. Time is precious. Hurry. A growl fell into the silence as I sped up, passing any I could. You won't make it.

A day later and I was pulling into the parking lot of Javva the Cupp. She would be here, she always is. Pushing out the door a few faces smiled back at me. I continued to the counter and shook my head a little. "Max, have you seen Cal?"
"Blaise? She's been staying upstairs, are you okay? She's looking for you, said you won't answer her." She blew a strand of hair out of her face, "She's in the last room on the left."
Making my way around the tables I went upstairs. Cal had always joked about living here but was she telling the truth the whole time? The lights under the doors were all out but the last one, noises coming from inside said she was there. Music blasting, swearing and the sound of her jumping around. The music stopped as I began to knock. "Who's there?"
"Cal, it's me."
She was here, in front of me tears falling down her face as her arms wrapped around me and pulled me inside. "Where have you been? I've been trying to call you and it's all gone to voicemail. Blaise I'm really scared, I thought I lost you."
"My phone is somewhere in New York. I broke it and threw it away but that's not important. We have to leave, pack your bags and come with me."
"Come with you? Where are you going?"
"I really don't know but it's not safe and if they can't get me, they'll get you."
"Blaise, who are you talking about?"
"Safer if you don't know, just hurry."
Pressing her lips quickly to mine, she began packing. After ten minutes she was done and ready. "First, I need to know what's going on. Because Blaise you're scaring me with all this. You disappeared for a week and now you want me to just run off with you?"
"Yes, come on. I'll explain when I know it's safe."
Grabbing a hold of my hand and nodding a little she reached for her bag before pausing, "We should take the back exit so no one sees us. They'll notice I'm gone so enough."
Arm out the window and a smile on her face; with music blasting around us. Cal singing and laughing beside me was better than I thought. Passing road signs and rest stops, silence began to take over. Silence used to be amazing, no one cared to fill the space with deflated balloons of pointless words. Silence now was a knife digging into my skull every moment that past.

The hotel is better than the one I was at before. There is an actual counter at the check in desk and no boxes laying around. The bed looks like a real bed you would see in a hotel commercial and not something you would see in a under budget porno. White sheets wrinkled under our weight while a black duvet. Pale hands pulled at my hair, "I'm not sure how I feel about blonde. Your black hair was way better, much more sexy. I mean when you took that hat off I barely recognized you."
"That's the point." I felt the sharpness in my voice slice through the air and pierce her skin. A white halo moves faster than lightning, pierced skin stings between what once was. Rolling over I let my eye shut, darkness crept between us.
Honey dripped from the corner of her eyes. Bees buzzed behind streetlamps they call eyes. Metal clicked around the dark that surrounded her eyes. Bees became wasps. Pain shot through every nerve you possess. Crimson lips screamed in the darkness, thread hung with chunks of skin. Copper filled your nose, your ears rang. Blood stained lips screamed louder. Blood fell from the now colourless eyes. Gaps formed where honey was while wasps ripped through every inch of skin the thing in front of you had. Bone hands grabbed reached for the lamp behind your eyes. Blades dug deeper as everything went black. A warm, viscous liquid poured down your skin dripping into the gaping hole that took place of your mouth. Colour shot around in the darkness as the screams got louder. Glutinous vines tangled around every limb. skin ripped while they twisted tighter. Bullet pain coarsed through the nerves as vines pushed into newly formed gashes and mangled your insides. Blood soaked lips pressed to your skin and teeth sunk deep into every inch not wounded. Darkness lightened to piercing screams of white.
Screaming I shot up and began grabbing around me. Crimson stains and dried blood, small clumps of dark hair, crumpled sheet and scattered pillows, no Cal. No Cal. Rushing fear turns jade and lose becomes celadon. She's gone, Lover Boy. Venom lips never last, flesh bullets pierce only for moments before firing off to some new.
