Umm minor self doubt, anxiety and food mention.

Michael fiddled with the sleeves of his red button up nervously, double checking himself in the mirror for the third time. He was nervous to say the least. Rich was this really cool and popular guy and well, he himself just wasn't.

"Dude, relax. Everything will go fine." Jeremy stated from the other side of the room, where he currently was lounging on Michael's bed. Michael shrugged slightly, biting his lip and flattening his shirt for what seemed like the millionth time.

"I-I just, I'm really nervous because h-he's just really cute and confident and cool, while I-I'm not.." Michael dropped his gaze to study a particular annoying stray string sticking out of his carpet. He heard the bed shift and barely glanced up to look at his friend.

Jeremy made his way across the room, patting Michael's back in a supportive way. Michael glanced up and smiled weakly at him before fixing his eyes back on that stupid fucking string.

"Look man, you're great. You've got an amazing personality, and in my book you're the coolest person I know." Michael shrugged again sheepishly, before Jeremy continued. "I'm not gay, but to me you're pretty handsome. You look great, Mich. Rich will love you! And if not, well that's his loss."

Michael nodded before turning to give Jeremy a short hug and Jeremy returning it with a smile on his lips.

"Thanks, Jer."

"No problem. Now go out and have fun, okay?" Jeremy followed that up by shooing him out of the room, pushing him into the living room and to the front door. Michael froze then, glancing around trying to find anything to stall before Jeremy opened the door and shoved him out.

"B-but I f-forgot my phone!" Michael  yelped, as Jeremy was closing the door.

"Go without it." The door slammed and Michael knew he heard distinct sounds of the locks clicking. He sighed shakily before taking a deep breath.

You can do this, Michael. Deep breath, you've got this.

Michael took his time walking to the restaurant. It was this really fancy place that Michael couldn't pronounce the name of. He was mostly just trying to get his heart rate to slow down and convince himself not to hyperventilate. That would be bad.

When he rounded the corner, seeing the restaurants bright lights blazing over the peeks of the other rooftops caused his heart to jump into his throat.

This is actually happening, oh god.

He spotted a familiar spike of red hair, causing his heart to leap once again. Rich was dressed in nice black jeans and a light blue and black flannel. He wore his hair spiked up in its natural quiff. His face complete with a gentle yet confident smile, with the background of bright lights on a busy street.

He looked absolutely stunning.

Michael's breath hitched in his throat as his eyes met with Rich's; Rich wearing a soft smile and Michael a deepening blush.

He made his way to the beautiful boy across the street, tucking a stray hair behind his ear nervously. When he made it to Rich's side, he offered a nervous smile, Rich returning it with much more confidence.

"Good evening, Michael," Rich greeted. "You look amazing," he added, letting his eyes scan Michael's form up and down, causing Michael to shift slightly in place, feeling in the spot light and suddenly very exposed. He felt like Rich was eating him alive with his eyes alone, scanning and seeing right through him.
