For once, everything was peaceful in our lives. The Giant War had ended about a year ago. Everyone was getting along, and it was calm throughout the camps.
Leo and Calypso had returned, and everyone kicked his ass for dying on us and not telling us he was going to come back to life, but then Jason had died. Estelle Blofis was born, too, so we'd had both the good and the bad. Birth and death.
Percy and I had gone to high school together in NYC for our senior year and we were about to attend the university in New Rome; we had even bought an apartment there. Although, to me, the most exciting part of all had just occurred nearly two weeks before.
A week and a half ago, I had become Annabeth Jackson. Percy and I got married on Percy's 18th birthday, the second anniversary of when we started dating. We had a beautiful beach wedding in Hawaii, and our godly parents were nice enough to teleport everyone there.
All of our friends were there, as well as most of the Olympians. Thalia was my maid of honor and Tyson was Percy's best man. Some people may say we're too young to be married, but we'd known each other since we were twelve and it seemed like we'd been together for eons. With all that we've been through together, if we can't make our marriage last then no one can.
After the wedding, everyone went home except for Percy and I. We stayed and spent our honeymoon there, only returning to camp a few days ago.
I was so happy and excited for our future together, glad to finally be able to live normally. Life was absolutely perfect for once.
So naturally, that's when a quest had to come along.
I was sitting at my desk in the Athena Cabin when my brother, Malcolm, came in. "Hey, Annabeth, Chiron wants to see you in the Big House."
Sighing, I set down my blueprints and walked towards the Big House, where Chiron was waiting on the porch.
"Is something wrong?" I hoped there wasn't.
"I need to talk to you about the wizards, Annabeth."
"Wizards?" I tried to play the innocence card.
Chiron gave a small smile. "You should know that won't fool me, Annabeth, my dear. I know Miss Lovegood, the Weasleys, and Misters Longbottom and Malfoy have told you about the Wizarding World. You still IM them, do you not?"
"Not as much as we did before I got so caught up in the wars. But yeah, I still do," I admitted. "Why do we need to talk about the wizards? I thought demigods and wizards weren't supposed to mix. I swore to Ginny I wouldn't tell anyone at camp about them and I haven't, not even to Percy, even though he talked to them when we IMed since we were all friends when they all still came to camp for his first two summers."
Chiron smiled, "I'm grateful that you did keep it a secret, as it is meant to be. However, as of late there has arisen reason that this secret must be shared, at least with a select few. You will obviously be one of these few, as you are a powerful demigod and you already know of the wizards."
I frowned, not liking the sound of this, "why must the secret be compromised? What's happening in the Wizarding World?"
"The wizards are on the edge of their own war, Annabeth. I assume they have told you of the dark wizard they call Lord Voldemort? And of the 'Boy Who Lived', Harry Potter?"
I nodded, "they've mentioned them before."
"Mr. Potter is destined to either destroy Lord Voldemort and save the Wizarding World from his control or die at the dark wizard's hands and bring defeat upon their world. The gods have deemed it imperative that Mr. Potter succeeds, and it appears that the monsters that backed Gaea and Kronos in our wars have now turned to Voldemort as their master."
"So that makes it our war too?", I asked.
"I'm afraid so, my dear. Spells will not harm the monsters of our world, nor will our weapons harm anything of theirs. Voldemort is no fool. He will wait to use them until the final battle, so he can catch the wizards off guard, but we cannot let this happen. I'm afraid you must aid them in this final battle and protect them from the monsters. I would not dream of sending you into wizarding battle with no knowledge of magic, so you and the other chosen demigods must go to Hogwarts and learn to wield wands as well as weapons, keeping an eye out for Harry's safety while you're there."
"What will we tell the wizards about us?"
"Only the chosen demigods will know of the wizard's existence and you mustn't let the non-demigod wizards learn of the demigods for as long as it may be avoided, though it is likely they will find out eventually. You will tell the wizards that you are exchange students from the American school of Ilvermorny."
"And who are the 'chosen demigods'?"
"You, of course, along with Percy, Piper, Frank, Hazel, Leo, Nico, Will, Thalia, Reyna, the Stolls, and Katie Gardner. Calypso, Grover, and Tyson will also go, though they are not technically demigods."
"What about college? School? The camps?"
"You will get college credit in New Rome from your Hogwarts schooling, if that is what you wish. Clarisse and Chris Rodriguez have decided to transfer to college in New Rome. Clarisse and Dakota will fill in as Praetors at Camp Jupiter, and I have things handled here, so don't worry about the camps, my dear."
"Alright then, it doesn't really look like we have much of a choice, so I'll go get the others. It will be nice to see them all again. I know Neville still comes during the summers at least, except for these past two, but we haven't seen the others in forever, aside from briefly at my wedding!"
With that, I left to go find Percy.
[A/N: Please let me know what you guys think! I'm open to suggestions on what you think should happen next as the story progresses, too, although I've already got some of it mapped out. Thanks for reading!]
