On the third day of their internship, they arrived in Hosu City just as panic and chaos began to ensue. Civilians were screaming and sirens were going off like crazy as emergency vehicles raced about. Nikita spotted a strange tall lanky lumbering creature that looked similar to the Nomu at the USJ. This one had lighter skin and lacked the strange vicious beak but still had the exposed brain. It lumbered toward two huddled civilians.
"Nikita." Endeavor's booming voice sounded from behind her, "Get the civilians."
Her tail and ears shifted to cheetah pattern and she vanished from sight just as a short elderly man wearing a white and gold suit with a fluttering gold cape kicked the strange creature in the jaw keeping it from getting to the civilians. In her cheetah form she didn't have a whole lot of physical strength but managed to pull the civilians safely out of harms way toward Endeavor and Shoto in the blink of an eye. Once the cat girl and the civilians were clear Endeavor launched a fire attack at the strange creature causing it to yowl in pain and halt its blind attack.
"Th-thank you!" The civilian couple Nikita had pulled to safety cried and attempted to smother the cat like girl. They looked up to the towering hero with the flaming beard and face mask and stared in awe, "It's Endeavor. Thank you Endeavor!"
"You should get somewhere safe." Nikita said calmly to the couple as her ears flicked, there were more creatures loose in the city. Her strong sense of hearing could pick up on them and at least one of them sounded like it had the ability to fly.
The couple bowed their heads in thanks to the cat like girl and scrambled to do as she said. Nikita looked to Shoto, he looked tense and serious, ready to prove himself. His mismatched gaze fell on her and he smiled. "Good work, Niko."
Endeavor addressed the elderly hero with the flowing gold cape as he marched closer to the burning creature and the old man, "I was looking for the elusive hero killer, but this thing will have to do. Thanks, old timer, I'm afraid I don't know you, but I can handle this from here on out."
Nikita and Shoto fell in step behind him. The cat girl's ears kept flicking in various directions picking up on the screams of civilians and the wail of monsters in the distance. There were more creatures, nearly half a dozen more.
The old man stared at Endeavor in awe, "It's you."
Nikita tensed as the flames around the creature died down and it fell to all fours looking as if it were preparing for an attack. It was primal in nature more animal than human. Her nails elongated and sharpened into claws and she tensed waiting for it to make a move.
"That was only a low temperature warning shot." Endeavor noted seeming mildly annoyed, "But still, it always KO's my opponent."
"Something's not right." The old man grimaced, "This guy is-" He cut off and leapt back as the creature released a wave of flames from its body, seeming to be the flames it had absorbed from Endeavor's initial attack.
"Your quirk's absorption and release but you still took damage from my flame, didn't you?" Endeavor noted as he stared at the scorch marks on the creature's body and stepped in front of Shoto and Nikita to protect them from the surge of flames. "Not a very impressive power."
The strange creature's body began to convulse and ripple as if it were about to make some kind of transformation. Nikita tensed. This wasn't going to be good.
"Watch it Todoroki!" The old man yelled and managed to switch directions in mid air with some kind of thrust in his boots. "I think this guy has got multiple quirks."
