Destiny POV

I looked around the classroom as the teacher called out Rome's name another time before marking him absent. He's been absent for the past couple days, which is really starting to worry me.

Yeah, I'm mad at him but I still care about him.

After class I went up to this boy named Nick, I've seen him and Rome hang out often.

"Do you know why Rome hasn't been in school lately?" I asked him when I finally caught up to him. He's a fast walker.

"He's mom died a couple days ago so he's probably home." he told me. I nodded my head.

"Why do even care about him? We all saw how he played you earlier." he commented.

I acted like I didn't hear him and walked away. I feel so bad for him and Brina.

After school I made sure all my homework and extra credit was done before I headed over to Rome's place.

I knocked on the door and no one answered. I knocked on it again. After a few minutes Rome came to the door.

He didn't say anything, he just moved to the side to let me in. His apartment was super messy with clothes all over the floor and he smelled like he hadn't taken a shower in a minute.

He sat down and I followed his lead.

"I heard about your mom and I came over here to give my condolences." I said. His eyes were bloodshot red probably from crying. I could tell he was tired from the bags under his eyes.

He still didn't say anything. I cleared my throat.

"Where's Sabrina?" I asked him.

"She next door, with our neighbor." he finally spoke. His voice came out unstable and weary.

"Does she know?" I asked softly.

"Yeah I told her. She wasn't that sad since her and my mom never had a relasionship." he said.

"R-Rome you know if you want to talk about it you can. I'll be here to listen." I rubbed his hand. He shook his head up and down.

"Just can't believe she's gone. I'ma be cool, I just need to get use it." he rubbed his hands through his hair.

We were sitting on the same couch and he was just staring at me. His intense eyes were looking into mine.

Soon I felt his lips on mine. My hand found it's way to his neck as our lips moved insynce. His tongue explored my mouth, mine did the same to his.

His rough hands made their way to my lower back.

"Mmm." I moaned in his mouth.

This felt too good and his lips are so soft. I put my leg on the other side of the couch, now I was straddling his lap. His hands worked their way down.

Then suddenly I realized what I was doing and I pulled away before he got to touchy.

"You go get some rest and I'll clean this place up." I told him before I got off the couch. I avoided all eye contact with him. I didn't look up until I heard a door close.

I was almost done when I got a text from my dad telling me that I needed to come home asap. I wrote Rome a quick note before leaving.

"What's going on?" I asked my dad as soon as I got home.

"Look in the living room." he told me while smiling.

I looked at him confused but did what he says.
