You know what the best news to hear is?
An unexpected day off.
After hearing the news of her boss having to go to his hometown, she was a squealing mess.
Her extended hours at the bustling cafe she worked in, had pushed her at her limit.
Knowing, she won't have to get up to leave for work, she hit her snooze button almost immediately.
Yes, sleep had always been her second priority.
..........
The pale boy looked around with amused eyes.
He wouldn't have cared to judge his new neighborhood, since he was in a hurry to move into his new home, but this was different.
The colourful aura of the neighborhood had eventually made him stop in his tracks and gaze at it for a moment.
His eyes seemed to have stopped at a certain house right in front of his.
No interactions he thought as he assumed he had a neighbor.
He finally slinged his small bag pack over his shoulder, unlocking the front door of his newly rented house.
He didn't have much luggage with him. Or any luggage to be precise. Just a bagpack. So he didn't need help. Even if he did, he was too egoistic to ask for it.
.........
10:45am
She knew she had overslept today, but never regretted even a bit. It had been a while since she felt this refreshed.
She slowly got up from her comfy bed and out of habit, walked over to her window to gaze out of it. Not that it had a scenic picture.
It was a habit she had picked up from the time she lived with her parents in the hills. To always gaze out the window everytime she woke up.
The sun wasn't harsh even though it was noon. Signs of an approaching autumn.
Her eyes were slightly squinted to the blinding light, as she lazily stretched her limbs.
Until something caught her eye,
"Huh?" She hummed out and simultaneously rubbing her eyes with her palms.
Was she hallucinating or did she just see a figure in the house in front of hers.
But the figure came into frame again, clearing away all doubts.
Her eyes widened as she watched the boy move around the neighbouring house from afar. Her window being just parallel to his room.
"Is this some jackpot?" She spoke to herself, realising she just now has a neighbor.
The fact of her living alone, had often got her lonely.
Not only that but she had only one friend, Hoseok. She wasn't sad over it but she also didn't mind making more.
"Maybe I'll just greet him..." She muttered scampering over to her closet.
"But wait....Shouldn't he be greeting me...Since he moved in later..?" She pointed out.
"Should I wait...?" She asked herself, hoping to get an answer.
After wondering for half a minute she decided to just visit him anyway. She was free today and it can be, that some other time when he comes to visit she won't be home.
So she changed into some jeans and a long sleeve top and quickly groomed her hair.
........
Ding dong~
She tapped her foot out of anticipation at his doorstep.
Aish...I should have brought some gifts with me... She mentally cursed for her lack of sincerity.
She cleared her throat and rehearsed as to what she's gonna say, until she realised it was taking a bit too long for the door to open.
So she rang the doorbell again.
Ding dong~
She looked around the house whistling to herself, getting bored from simply standing outside.
It was still closed, no one came to approach her calls.
She got impatient and rang the bell again, not caring if it's annoying.
Just as she did, almost immediately the door opened with a creak.
But just a bit.
"Yah! Your gonna spoil the bell if you keep ringing it." A deep voice came from inside, making her flinch.
The pale guy, lazily leaned onto the doorway, keeping the door open just a little.
"Sorry..." She timidly said.
"What do you want?" He spit out.
"I... uh..I'm actually your neighbor...So I came here to greet..." She mumbled out, all that she rehearsed going to waste.
"Well, hello." He simply said.
"Hi..." I greeted back in a dry voice.
"If done, then leave." He said.
"Uhm...no!..." I quickly denied as he was closing his door shut.
"Hmm?" The guy stopped as to what she still had to say.
"I mean...How about we go get some coffee..And talk...?" She awkwardly suggested.
His eyebrows arched and his lips twitched a bit in annoyance.
"No, I'm busy. Don't you know the amount of work you have when you move in?" He said, exasperated.
"Ohh... Hahaha... Right...How stupid of me..." She faked a laugh.
"Now if you will excuse me." He stated.
"Sure, sorry to-!"
The door had already shut on her face.
" ...Disturb you..." She completed, mumbling to herself.
She sighed. If only she came at the right time. Maybe she would have just waited for him to come.
But would he really?
