The sorting

I looked over and could see the cogs turning in Hermione's head. Desperately trying to figure out what she had to do, after a couple of minutes she gave up and shrugged. I rolled my eyes, if she didn't know then I definitely wouldn't. McGonagall unrolled a parchment and announced "when I speak your name you will come up and sit on the stool, I will place the hat on your head and it will sort you into the houses"
I figured it could easily do this as it had finished singing just moments before. McGonagall called the names in alphabetical order, she reached Hermione and the hat declared "Gryffindor!" It's roar quickly drowned out by the cheers from the Gryffindor table.
As she reached the end of the list she noticed one name had escaped the alphabticalization charm. "L/n y/n" she declared and as the hat was placed on the stool I thought
Spare me the theatrics, I already know what house I'm in.

"Spare you the theatrics," the hat replied. "Very well, RAVENCLAW!" I took my seat at the ravenclaw table and looked at Hermione who's face had fallen in disappointment. I gave her an apologetic look. After the feast we were led to our common rooms. Expecting a password, I was quite shocked when the doorknocker asked,
"Why do we dream?"
The prefect thought for a moment and replied with, "to escape the harsh realities of the real world."

The doorknocker replied with "how honest" and opened the door so we could enter the common room.

I was astounded as I entered to find a wide circular room with a midnight blue carpet. On the high domed ceiling were painted stars that glowed in the fire light. Covering the walls were bookshelves which I couldn't wait to get my hands on and in a niche opposite the door was a statue of Rowena Ravenclaw with the words, 'wit beyond measure is man's greatest treasure' inscribed beneath her.
We were indicated to the door to the right of the statue and informed that boys dormitories were up and to the left, the girls to the right.

I went upstairs to my bed to find a gift from my parents. A beautiful eagle owl, who I named Seba as it had always been a favourite name of mine.
I pet him for a while before letting him fly off in the direction of the owlery. I then crawled into bed and fell into a heavy sleep. Dreaming about the days to come as I practiced magic in this wonderful school.

A/n: I can't update until I find my harry potter books because I can't remember timetables etc. Also I would like to ask if you have any preference over your patronus and animagus form. These will be important later and they will also be the same. Thanks for reading. Hope to update soon.
