[ Amaya | Present | New Orleans ]
[ 15.September.2042 ]I awoke from a peaceful sleep and sat up after I opened my eyes and sighed. I ran my fingers through my long hair and looked around. I shaked my head and chuckled lightly, when I saw the tiny package at the end of my bed. I got up from my bed to read the card on it. "Happy birthday, little revilas. We love you. - D & K." I rolled my eyes and then smiled widely. I picked the package up and hold it close to my chest as I carefully walked downstairs and right in on everyone.
The part of my family who was here turned around and watched me with wide smiles when they saw the present in my hands. "I literally said, no gifts." I spoke and I've received laughter. "Sorry, little one. Couldn't help myself." I heard behind me and then turned around to face my uncle. "And here I thought especially you would take me by word." I jugdefully said and Kol grinned. Then, I threw my arms around him to welcome him.
"Not anymore. You remember Hope's birthday? I've got her something, too." He answered after we parted and I sighed. "Where's the spawn of the devil anyway?" I said and received a growl from him behind me.
Then I saw her. Hope was walking downstairs, holding something behind her back. She walked towards me and threw herself into my arms. "Happy Birthday, sister." She whispered into my ear and as we parted she gave me the present. "Thanks, Hope." I said and she smiled at me.
I turned around walked into the kitchen where my mom made the dining table ready. "Happy Birthday, sweetheart." She said and I laid the presents down. "Thank you, Mom." I whispered and she kissed my cheek before turning to the table again.
"How about you stop the staring and sit down?" I asked and then sat down myself. My family followed me and watched me as I looked around.
"SURPRISE!" Aunt Rebekah yelled as she entered the kitchen with a big plate with cake in her hands. My eyes widened and I sighed. Then I laughed. "Who's gonna eat all that?" I asked, while laughing. "You. And me. And Davina. And Freya and Keelin. Practically all the humans. Or non-humans." Hope said and then my vision got all black.
"Happy Birthday, Amaya." The hands on my eyes were disappearing and I got up to turn around and hug my father. "Thank you, Dad." I said and then chuckled. "What are we waiting for?" He then asked, and he and everyone else sat down.
I picked up my cup of coffee and smiled at my family and I sitting together at the table in peace.
They started to chat and to laugh and I just couldn't help myself to laugh with them. I loved it when we celebrate birthdays. It was lovely.
After we ate we walked back to the courtyard where I opened the presents they gave me after I sat down on the couch. Hayley was the first to give me a present that I opened infront of all of them. When I teared the paper apart I held a box in my hands and I slowly opened it. "It's a book?" I said questioning and unpacked it. "Open it. It's from Sophia and me." She said and smiled widely at me.
I did what she told me to do and when I read the pages I also began to smile widely. "There's nothing." Hope said when she looked over my shoulder and I laughed. "That's amazing. Thank you, Hayley." I got up and hugged her while holding the book. "For revilas eyes only." She whispered and I chuckled.
"You're late. You okay?" I heard Dad say and then turned around to see Cami next to my parents. "Yeah..." She answered. I put the book down and walked up to her to hug her. "Hey, you." She said, chuckling. When we released eachother she opened her bag to pick a package up and Cami handed it over to me. "Go on." She said, smiling and I took the package and opened it. I smiled widely when it revealed a necklace. A charm. It was a golden crescent moon with silver stars. "I saw and it kind of reminded me of you." Cami added and I hugged her again. "It's so beautiful. Thank you, Camille." I whispered. She took the necklace and got behind me. When I felt the cold necklace clicking around my neck I chuckled. "Thanks." I whispered.
Sara and Freya were next and they decided to give me a new kind of grimoire. It got a big red moon on it and a lace band to hold it together. "We thought you could learn a bit more of the magic of the witches around here and the revilas." Freya said and I nodded. "Yeah, right. Thank you. Both of you." I said, chuckling softly.
Davina stepped forward and smiled down at me, before hugging me. "Happy Birthday, little one." She handed me the package that was laying on my bed earlier and I smirked at her and Kol. "Don't worry. I watched him as he packed it." Davina said and I heard laughter and I laughed with them for a moment. I unpacked it and it revealed a photo album. "Oh, please don't tell me-" "Yes, all those embarrassing and cute baby photos of you are in there. And a few from all of us. Mostly the ones we shot with the old camera." Kol said as he cut me off. I laughed and shaked my head, starting to blush.
"Thank you, uncle Kol. That was not necessary, but I appreciate the thought." I politely said and put also this present down. The next was more simpler and I was stunned as I looked at it. "You do know that this present was very hard for me to made? But I still did something you might like very much." Elijah said next and I chuckled. "A selfmade bracelet. With an infinity symbol." I smiled and locked eyes with him. "It's beautiful, uncle Elijah. And I do get the meaning behind it. Thank you." He smiled down at me and then helped to put it around my wrist.
I got up and then watched my Dad disappearing upstairs. "Close your eyes." Mom said and I pinched my eyebrows confusingly together and then did what I was told. "Wow..." I heard Rebekah mutter. "Now open them." Mom whispered into my ear from behind and I slowly opened my eyes and infront of me stood a large beautiful colored canvas. It showed a figure in a white dress. A girl. She's standing in the shadows of the dark trees around her. But it was more brighter where she stood. Mostly because of the bright lightening around the figure and the white dress.
"Wow..." I whispered in awe and stared at the painting. I ran up to my father and hugged him. "This- I- How-" I stuttered and then stepped away to watch the painting again. "Deep breaths, sweetheart." Dad said and smirked at me. "Thank you. This is probably the most beautiful one you ever did. You too, Mom." I whispered and then I looked up to my parents again. They looked proud.
I looked around and suddenly, Rebekah handed me keys. I looked confused at my aunt and then watched the keys. "Rebekah, we talked about-" Dad started, but got cut off by Rebekah.
"Too late, Nik. The car is already outside and I dare you to forbid her to drive it." She said and at the end I thought I heard her growl.
"You're welcome." I grinned widely at my aunt and she smiled at me.❁
When the sun disappeared from the horizon I sneaked out. Correction, I wanted to sneak out until I saw my Mom infront of me. "Let me guess..." She started and I sighed heavily. "Allison is waiting for you?" She asked and I raised an eyebrow. "Mom... How do you know?" I asked back and she sighed. "Well, that doesn't matter now. Just try to be back tomorrow morning. Alright? And no alcohol." She said and I kissed her cheek. "Thank you. For the whole day. It was probably the best in my entire life. And no alcohol - got it." She smiled and then I walked past her and to my friend's apartement.
