"Come come! Step over the threshold. Welcome to Cairo Prison my humble home." gestured a scurvy and balding filthy man.
"You told me you got this on a dig down in Thebes." lectured Evelyn, Jean tagging along by her brother. Jonathan coughed,
"Well I was mistaken." he stated before giving his twin a wink. Jean merely rolled her eyes at him and tried not to chuckle. He always loved irritating Evie no matter what.
"You lied to me." she stated astonished.
"I lie to everybody." he exclaimed.
"I am YOUR sister!" she retorted.
"Yes well that makes you more gullible. And I know Jean doesn't care as long as it brings no harm to anyone." he tiredly said.
"Jonathan you STOLE it from a drunk at the local Caspar!"
"It's quite popular actually!" he chimed and tried turning both Jean and Evie around towards the exit. However, Evie just pivoted all of them right around and huffed,
"What exactly is this man in prison for?"
"This I do not know. When I heard were you coming I asked of him this myself." the balding man said scratching his head before yelling at the guards to fetch him.
"And what did he say?" Evelyn pressed.
"He said he was just looking for a good time." At that point a man with long scraggly hair is dragged out yelling at the guards before being whipped and thrown against the bars. Evelyn looks mortified and softly asks,
"Th This is the man you stole it from?"
" Yes so why don't we go sniff out a spot of tiffin." Jonathan gulped tugging at his neck tie, obviously getting worried.
"Who are you? And who are the broads?" grunted the man behind the bars.
"Broads!" Jean exclaimed and glared at him with such a look that could melt a person's face off.
"These are my sisters Evie and Jean." Jonathan stuttered smiling bringing both closer to the man with him.
"Oh. Well I guess they're not a total loss." he said, smirking especially at Evelyn.
"I beg your pardon!" Jean sassily said, putting her hands on her hips.
The owner started yelling at some guards and said he would be back in a moment. Now's our chance!!!! Jean thought and nudged Evelyn to ask the guy.
"Oh um excuse me. We have found your- your puzzle box and we've come to ask you about it." Evie said shyly.
"No." he flatly stated. Evelyn frowned,
"No?"
"No. You've come to ask me about Hamunaptra." he finished. Jonathan tries to hush him while Evie stares at him and Jean starts,
"How do you know the box pertains to Hamunaptra?" She skeptically asks.
He turned his look over to the other brunette,
"Because that's where I found it when I was there." he sarcastically said. Jean folded her arms.
"How do we know that's not a load of pig's swallow?" Jonathan questioned getting next to the man's face. The guy looked at him long and hard before questioning,
"Do I know you?"
"No no I just got one of those faces!" he gestured wildly before the man instantly recognized him and punched him in the face.
"No need for violence." Jean muttered before going over to her twin to tap him on the face a couple of times to have him wake up. Just as she did both turned around just in time to see the man kissing their sister on the lips and the man being dragged off by the guards who continued to yell at him. The warden came back smiling and brushing his sleeves.
"Where are they taking him?" Evelyn worriedly asked.
"To be hanged. Apparently, he had VERY good time." he laughed before heading towards the arena.
