Jean had just awoken to the battle that was waging against mummies and humanity. She was desperately trying to free her other hand from the cuff. Almost immediately she sighed in relief at seeing her younger sister strut towards her, until she noted how her sister was grimly sneering at her. And had a rather large, gleaming gold and obsidian dagger in hand.
"Um Evie are you okay?" Jean asked worriedly, nervousness written all over her face as her sister drew closer and closer. Jean tugged at her last restraint, wanting to get out of there as soon as possible. She screamed and ducked out of the way as Evie raised the dagger high above her head and tried stabbing her, barely missing her head.
"Evie what's wrong? Did I do something bad before I lost consciousness?" Jean shouted, only to dive to the side to dodge another swishing of the sharp obsidian in her sister's hand. Jean tried tugging at the cuff secured around her wrist once more, finally the ancient chain gave from the altar and she was somewhat free. She starting running only to trip on the long sheath-like skirt she was in, landing harshly on her backside. A painful groan elicited itself from her mouth and she rubbed the spot before frantically trying to scurry up. However, she was soon thrown back against an uneven stone slab by Evelyn.
Jean screamed "Jonathan!" before Evelyn striked down. Jean expected to feel an inexcruciable pain in her chest only to be surmounted with surprise as she saw O'Connell ripping the knife away from her seemingly possessed sister. Jean quickly noted that her sister was the least of her worries. For coming her way was the bronzed Imhotep, looking absolutely infuriated with her sister. She couldn't even stomach the idea of kissing him again, which was strange because she didn't mind the one in the desert too much. Her thoughts were quickly broke as she saw Imhotep charge at Rick and her sister.
"No don't!" she shouted in ancient Egyptian, but the livid mummy heeded no mind.
"How dare she." The mummy thought. Thinking she could take his Lotus Bloom away from him again. After all they both suffered through and still suffering because his love didn't even have her full memories or soul back. He brought one of his abnormally large hands back and slugged the poor american, nearly knocking him out. He then proceeded to the incubus of a snake in front of him. He roughly grabbed the woman in black and pinned her against the wall, his chest heaving in rage, his eyes two swirling storms with fire in them.
"You should no longer be an obstacle!" he roared in his native tongue. The woman he was nearly choking gave a look of sadistic glee.
"But here I am, alive in a new form, with the power over your sweet, precious princess." she stated, venom sweetly dripping from each word in her voice.
"Please stop!" Jean whimpered in Egyptian, fearful for her sister and beyond mortally confused with the current situation. Imhotep only seemed to tighten his hold on her sister.
"It's not her fault! It's not my sister causing all of this, please let her go!" Jean cried trying to rush towards both of them only to have her broken chain get wedged between the stone slab, yanking her back. She viciously tried to yank at it so she could reach the two, perhaps reason with the being in front of her.
"Rick wake up! Please someone help me." she sobbed as she saw the man grip her sister tighter, almost like a snake when its sizing its prey up. His mouth seemed to unnaturally hinge as if he was going to suck out her sister's soul. In a final attempt she shouted for her twin who noticed her horrendous predicament and quickly abandoned reading the book that was the key to sending the dark souls back to the underworld and finally got her rattling chain free. She flung her body towards the intimidating man before her, hoping it would be enough to distract him long enough for her sister to come to her senses and escape. It worked, she definitely distracted him long enough to release his choke hold on her sister, however Evie still wasn't back to normal, instead she muttered a language no one knew and suddenly Jean collapsed, Imhotep's attention fully to the unconscious girl before him, cradling her against his chest.
"What did you do!" he all but horrendously shrieked, seething at the woman in black who merely smirked.
"I simply reawakened her soul, as you wanted. Now you can have all of her."
Imhotep looked at her even more so enraged and utterly confused. He gently cupped Jean's tear stained cheek as she inhaled a quick breath and awoke from her daze.
"Im-Im-Imhotep? Why are we here in the sacrificial room? Why is everything so worn and old?" the reincarnate Asernath asked, concern etched in her sweet and innocent voice.
"Asernath! You have returned, you must listen there isn't much ti-" he frantically started but was stopped short as she pushed him away and clutched at her chest, deep pain written across her face.
"Hur-hurts so much!" she gasped out falling to her knees.
"What's wrong my lotus bloom?!" the undead being begged. His begging soon morphed into a dark look at the woman who was smiling at what was unfolding between the two.
"Oh did I forget to tell you sweet, poor Imhotep? I cursed your little bride with the poison I gave her as well. She will eternally never fall in love, and if she does, her heart will completely crack apart and she'll be permanently stuck in the afterlife with you to walk the earth forever!" She all but cackled.
Asernath started fretfully coughing, her hand stained in blood. Imhotep looked in horror at the sight before him.
"If you want her to live you have to stay away from her forever." she laughed, her shoulders quivering with each laugh expelled in an eerie way.
Having enough of this, Jonathan puckered up all his courage and finally finished the incantation that attacked both Evelyn and Imhotep. Evelyn immediately collapsed to the ground unconscious. Rick quickly scooped her up and tapped her cheek a few times before caressing it. She muttered something vaguely before fainting again. The american held her close as the mummy was still standing before a chariot came to take his shadow of a being away, him chasing after it shortly before returning to his love who was wheezing and propped up against a pillar. He started to walk up to her when her twin stepped in front of her with both fists up. Imhotep glared with annoyance at him before simply shoving him to the ground before gently picking up his sickly looking bride. Her breathing was becoming more labored by the minute. He carried her over to the edge of the dark, black mystical pool of souls before whispering an incantation with his eyes closed. Jean gasped and shot immediately up, not remembering anything of the events. She looked around dazed before fear crept back into her eyes at seeing who was holding her. The man looked at her with such a deep sadness before bringing forth a dagger that he had hidden in his robes. Jean was struggling against him, her eyes wide like a doe, her breathing more labored. Before she could scream the mummy's mouth smashed against hers, enveloping her in a passionate kiss before heavily breathing into her ear, "Death is only the beginning". She froze in her spot, shocked to hear a gasp from him. He had given himself a fatal wound the abdomen and was slowly sinking into the waters below, slowly deteriorating back into its original form, the book of the Dead in his hands.
The End?
