After Jean was well rested after her little "fun in the water" Jonathan decided to purchase five camels while Jean and Evelyn went to shop for new clothing more suitable for the desert heat. Jean was looking around the store trying to find some other color than black. Evelyn picked up an all black garment with gold coin trimming,
"What do you think Jean? Will it look good on me?" she fretfully asked.
Jean gleamed and nodded at her, then continued to browse for some clothing. She finally found some clothing, but was unsure of which outfit to pick so the belly dancers helped her. After purchasing their items both Evelyn and Jean waltzed out of the tent and towards the group of men. Jonathan gave his twin a large grin, loving the light blue color that she chose for herself while still remaining completely modest. He then turned to his younger sister and looked at her with a stunned expression. Rick walked up to them with the rest of the camels and gaped like a fish out of water before giving a large grin of approval at Evelyn's choice in the traditional belly dancer outfit.
Jean and the rest of the group immediately chose their camels and headed straight out to the desert, O'Connell in front leading the caravan and Evie following trotting right by them.
"You know I told the man I only wanted five camels and not a whole bloody herd." he grumbled to Jean, greatly burdened to know his pocket was much lighter due to the substantial fee he payed for the "fleabags".
" I think they're so sweet. I'm happy you got them Jon." his twin said sweetly while petting her camel on the head, it grunting in happiness for a reply.
"Well I'm glad someone does." Jonathan muttered under his breath.
Nightfall had breached over the sunset and out came the stars and the beautiful moon, shining on the caravan as they slept on their continuous walking companions. Jean's head slightly lifted off the camel's neck and she looked around her, having a sleepy smile go across her face as she saw Rick coaxing the camel down so as to not wake Evie. She heard a whispering on the wind and softly tried to reply back in her half asleep state, before draping back over the camel's neck, it cuddling her before returning its attention back to walking. Little did they all know a secret society in all black were watching them all intently, especially Jean....
It was sunrise again and half the group was wondering how much further to go until Rick stopped suddenly, his camel whaling at him abruptly pulling the reins.
"We're here!" he said with a hint of fake happiness to his voice,
"and we're about to be shown the way." he said sarcastically before taking a swig out of his canteen. Another group came up facing the British group.
"Remember that bet O'Connell the one who reaches Hamunaptra first gets 500 cash and dibs on any spot they want." one of the Americans sneered. Both groups became tense, eyeing one another until they heard a slave worker in Egyptian shout "go!". All of them kicked their horses and camels in gear, Rick and Beni first taking the lead. But both managed to pull each other off their transportation, getting tossed in the sand and left behind. Rick shouted at Evie and Jean,
"Go Evelyn! Go Jean go! Its all yours!" he practically screamed with glee at seeing both almost near the entrance. Jean came in first following Evie. Jean was laughing so hard when she stopped that she toppled off the camel as she attempted to get off, klutzily falling in the sand on her bum at the feet of Anubis.
"Come on everybody! Let's get to work!" Jean giggled still laughing. The group looked at her weirdly before shrugging and getting to work.
