(Y/n) POV:
I paced around the living room nervously biting my nails. The war started a while ago and I waited around the house for a letter from George. I hope nothing bad happened to him.
"Come on. Come on. Come on" I mumbled quietly to myself. I heard a knock on the door and opened it. "Letter for Mrs Washington." A man said handing me a letter. "Yes thank you!" I smiled. I closed the door and ripped open the envelope.
My dearest, (Y/n)
The war is going well. I have not been hurt but I will be coming home soon for a couple of weeks. By the time you get this I should have arrived. There is no need to worry. I'll be home soon!

I looked up from the letter as I heard the door open and saw George walk in. "Oh my gosh!" I yelled and ran to hug him. "Thank goodness you're okay." I said into his chest.
"It's okay I'm here and I'm fine." He softly said. "Let me get you some tea." I offered. I came back and we sat on the sofa and cuddled. "I happy you're safe." I looked up at him. "I know. There's no need to worry." He smiled.
"It's a shame I'll have to leave in a few weeks." He said. "As long as you come home alive and well then I'll be happy." I chuckled and he chuckled back. "Then I'll make sure I'm back alive and well."
A couple weeks went by and George had to go back. But he stuck to his word and came back alive and well. And things were great after that. Nothing could be better.
