Chapter Thirteen- The Twist Pt. Two

Lisa yelled for Alex and Abby as it was time for dinner. They were going to Logan’s steak house for dinner. So they all went and got into the car. They were meeting Ray and Janice there. Even though they were Josh’s parents and he and Lisa knew this for a long time, they were still upset. I mean Abby just got over being sick, now she is pregnant. And he was also thinking about what Alex said. Josh knew he wouldn’t let the guy take his daughter away from him; she needed her doctors and friends.

They got to the restaurant right on time. However, everyone else was inside already at a table. So they headed in. When they got to the table, Josh said hello to his parents, and they introduced them to everyone that was sitting at the table. Ray stood up and introduced Josh, Lisa, Alex and Abby to Rich, Jackie, and Ashley. Josh asked where their son was and he was told that he was running a little late. But he would be there in a few minutes.  Jackie started talking to Abby. She asked her how school was and things. Abby told her that today was her first day back, as she had been sick she wasn’t allowed to go. And with her being pregnant she had to be careful with her heart and she couldn’t be put under a lot of stress. Jackie told Abby that after the wedding her son would treat her right and she wouldn’t be under any stress. Abby just shook her head. Alex asked if they were planning on taking his sister, and Jackie told him No, that her son lived right her in Gadsden and wasn’t planning on moving anytime soon. 

After talking for a few minutes Abby had to go to the restroom, Ashley told her that she would go with her. On the way the to the restroom, Ashley told Abby that they would be good friends even if things didn’t work out for Abby and her brother.  Abby looked at Ashley but she didn’t say anything else. While Ashley and Abby were in the bathroom Jeremy showed up. He was introduced to the Franklins. When Alex saw him, Alex asked “this is the guy Abby is marrying?” Then he busted out laughing. Abby was in the bathrooms she didn’t see this. Everyone stared at Alex and asked him why he asked that. Alex just said this is our history teacher.  He didn’t say anything else but he text Abby and told her to be prepared for a surprise when she got out here, and there was no way she was getting out of this now.

When Abby got the text form Alex she asked why, and he said you will see. I am not telling you. So when she got done she walked back to the table with Ashley. Ashley seen Jeremy had arrived so she walked over to him and gave him a hug. Abby couldn’t see who it was so she sat down. Then Ashley sat down.  When Grandpa Ray introduced Jeremy to the family her head was done. However, When Jeremy said hi to everyone and then apologized for being late her head snapped up and them both made eye contact. Abby tried not to get mad. She asked “Really this is the guy I am marrying. You have to be kidding me.”  Alex started laughing again as he knew that Jeremy was the baby’s daddy. But he still didn’t say anything.  After a few minutes of everything calming down Rich and Jackie both asked what was wrong with Abby marrying their son. Abby replied “Nothing is wrong with me marrying your son. However, he is my teacher and that would be a little weird don’t you think? Plus I am pregnant and I am sure he doesn’t want to take care of a baby, I mean he is still young.”

Jeremy snapped his head at that, and asked to talk to Abby alone in private, she said of course and they both headed out side.  When they got out side he said:

                                “What do you mean you are pregnant?  Have you been sleeping with other guys? I mean I thought you weren’t dating anyone right now? How the hell are we going to explain this to our parents? I thought you were sick? How long have you known you were pregnant?”
